attention. breaking news!

Enter the 132lb mens open division at your own risk. Erick Deleon is now a US citizen! I suggest you move down to 123 or up to 141 if you want a shot at the US Olympic team

Good, that will make the 132 pound division that much better. Deleon has a lot of competition. He may not even be the best 132 in Michigan. Raeese Aleem won the Region 5 title and will be battling for that Olympic spot.

Aleem lost a 3-2 decision to Damon Allen in last year's National Golden Gloves semi-finals after defeating 2009 U.S. National Champ Kevin Rivers in an earlier bout in the tournament. Deleon then defeated Allen in the finals. Aleem is looking better than ever this year.

I'm loving it, this seems to be setting up to be a good year for the Golden Gloves. with Aleem and Deleon at the top of thier games. this will be a good match, I just hope it's a fair match. these two fought each other back in 09....and the fight was given to Deleon, I personally felt Aleem won......but some hometown judging ( thats a topic for another forum ) gave the fight to Deleon.
This will be a good one to keep an eye on.

If anyone wants to watch the one bout between Aleem and Deleon from February 2009 go to the following link: http://www.youtube.com/user/erny2013. I think it was a close bout, but I would have had Aleem winning the decision. Currently Aleem is so much more polished than he looked in this 2009 bout. I can't wait for the National Golden Gloves as these two could easily meet up in Indianapolis.

There will be a lot of great bouts like this one at the National Golden Gloves in Indianapolis, IN from April 25-30, 2011.

Here is the link again for the bout (it was not the specific video the last time, but merely the YouTube channel). This time I am going to separate it out so it is easy to see.

Raeese Aleem vs Eric DeLeon from February 2009:

132 could be one of the toughest divisions to qualify for the Olympics in with De Leon, Raynell Williams, Damon Allen, Raeese Aleem, Duran Caferro & Jose Ramirez.

yall realize that Eric Fowler was a single point SD decision away from getting a 1 match box-off which would have eliminated 132lbs from being in the US olympic trials..

People! People! Look at the Video! Raeese Aleem clearly won the fight! Reason: He was the aggressor,He landed more cleaner punches and definitely landed the harder punches. I felt he took RD2,RD3 and RD1 could have gone either way. I did have Raeese winning. Can't wait to see these two go at it again, I think the outcome will be different and Raeese will have redeemed himself. Looking forward to April 2011 :)
