I lived in & still train in canning town. Bills a naughty man , many people he upset would not post anything about bill thru fear. Don't think he's been too well of late . Not many people in east London that ain't heard of the bomb. Many wish.they hadn't met the guy.

Why do they call him 'Jango'? It's a funny nickname; Bill 'The Bomb' is loads better.

Does he still fight for money? He must be in good nick for a middle aged fella.

the bomb is misunderstood and he'll be 59 on the 19th, i find he's a decent fella but he wont take sh^t of know one, he's what you call a man's man, he turned pro in miami and was trained by angelo dundee who said that bill would be a world champion but he just wont curb his temper, he used to sparr ali on the regular but coming back to england he ended up in prison on and off ever since, he still gets the boxing news every friday and sometimes gets to york hall for the odd show, it's true he has not been a well man but he'll fight it all the way like the fighter he is.

This must be the guy in Judas Pig,then.Barry Dalton is also in it as Barry Breen and ends up getting murdered. It is a mad book.Jango gets a good beating in it but the author does say he has terrorised the neighbourhood for years.

I read Cass Pennants ICF book who said a Billy Williams ran a firm at Upton Park in the 1960s - I don't know why I remember that except thinking that is a nice Welsh name for a cockney.

Eddy wrote:That's right. Barry Dalton shot Mclean in the backside with a sworn off shot gun. That Judas Pig book is based on real "faces". A bouncer told me that he (Jango) got badly done outside the British Flag pub once in Custom House by some blokes; then discharged himself that night, came walking down the road with a hospital drip stand still attached to him, and also with hammer in his hand looking for the guys lol. If that's true he is one hard b******
It was a very good read. Its a hard book to come by and can go for a lot of money on amazon.I got £70 for mine, only a paperback as well! That book must have seriously upset some people.

He once had a full team if bouncers standing against the wall & made them pat their heads whilst rubbing their tummy,s just to take the piss out of them.. & he really does clear a busy pub . The bomb is a legend!

Is he that hard though Johnny or is it that people can't be doing with the grief. In Doncaster there are some right horrible swines; there are people that could beat em but it's not worth the smashed windows, torched cars, kids shouted at on the way to school. There's not being a push over and there's evil. To my mind if trouble comes and you can't get away then you've to do your best not to get hurt; if you're out looking to humiliate or hurt someone else; I'm sorry; but you're twisted.

I'd love to come down to York Hall to watch the boxing; hopefully on your 100th bout but if some heavy lunatic comes in and scares everyone to death through what he might do I'd not be impressed; to be honest Johnny I'd just think they were a bully and there's pubs up in Doncaster where the mood changes and everyone leaves when a nutter comes in.

Everyone is pleased when they get done in; I know a man who is supposedly popular and has battered loads through the years; he was chinned at Christmas and not one person has been able to tell the story without grinning.

I'll have you know hurlock, "Mr.Fox" is a very dapper dresser. He can afford to be after he finishes shaking down all the pimps and nonces on his "patch". I especially admire his bright yellow Timberland (c) flasher mack (mack is also, coincidentally, another term for a pimp).
