Paul Dorking RIP

Post by Lorn »

I was not going to do this, Dave Matthews, (looking for a fight), was going to speak at his funeral, but the funeral has now got so big and too many people want to talk about him, his work within boxing and sport is of course not as important as his childhood and precious family memories.

So I am on here, very few of you will know of Paul, a quiet unassuming man who gave so much of himself to the people he worked with.

He was a hypnotherapist and sports psychotherapist, he has worked with nearly all Team Raineys fighters, not in the last 3 years due to illness, but all of our boys in the previous 12 years can say they have had some of the paul dorking magic treatment, usually for free and always under his own expense and on a few occasions making the main difference to two in particular on confidence etc.

He worked with us all on a private and professional level, he was always the first one there to support someone and the last to leave their side, he was our dearest friend and losing him so young is hard to take to be fair.

There are many many sports men and women that can say he touched their lives and all of his friends and family will never forget him, so simply I want to say thank you and god bless you Paul Dorking, you were a true gentleman in every sense of the word, we were lucky to call you our friend.

Paul Dorking, first time I met Him I liked Him was working with Corny Carr for the Steve Collins Fight. After I was having murders with a Fighter whose marriage was breaking up, and who had lost it completely. So i asked Him to work with Paul, with Him saying ok, but adding its a load of Bollocks. Training went very well, on time and for the 1st time in ages He was attentive. On the big night He blasted the Champ out in 1 round, Paul played a massive part in the preperation, free of charge. After the Fighter left me, but He also lost Paul who at the Time He needed more than anyone. Paul was a very Special Person He will be sadly missed.
