WBC really have got it in for Brodie

Manny Pacquiao has been named as the mandatory challenger to the soon-to-be-crowned WBC featherweight champion - the winner of a rematch between Michael Brodie and Korean Injin Chi.
Pacquiao, the reigning IBF super-bantamweight champion, holds no world title at featherweight despite his recent 11th-round destruction of Mexican Marco Antonio Barrera, who was unofficially regarded as the best featherweight in the world.
Brodie and Chi are set to rumble again in March in Manchester, with the winner mandated to face Pacquiao in June or July.

brodie has been chasing the big fights all his career, this is the very reason he's always wanted a genuine title so he can land one of these suckers and get em in the ring with him

I can't help thinking that Brodie was a better fighter at light-fether.... nearly every fight he's had since moving up has been a struggle or an outand out war... he just doesn't seem as strong a Feather as he was a light-fether (or superbantam.... I prefer light feather).
This is not to knock him though... I admire him a lot for his determination to take on the best..... hopefully he will have learned somethings from the last Chi fight and come into the rematch a better fighter for it.

i think manny will do a mayorga, he beat a p 4 p fighter and will lose to a average fighter, hope i am wrong but thats how i see it

I wouldn't write Brodie off in the rematch... I think he can win if he boxes better and keeps a tighter defence against Chi.

Bennie, this is what the WBC stated would happen before Brodie vs Chi 1. The winner of the vacant fight, would fight the winner of the Barrera vs Pacquiao match.

The WBC are only keeping to their word. Apparently, Barrera and Sullaman had patched up their differences and Barrera wanted to own the WBC title - oops.

Manny definately deserves a title shot so there should be no sour grapes there really. In fact Brodie and Chi can count themselves lucky that they have another fight against eachother rather than having to square off against Manny straight away!..... hope they get well paid though!.
