Yep, well done Smith.

A big blow for Hatton Promotions though. Tried their best to rescue it, just didn't have the stable in the end I don't think.

Good move by Adam Smith and Sky. It would have flopped miserably on PPV and by showing it on "normal" Sky, it will boost Khans PPV sales in future fights unless of course McCloskey causes the upset. War Dudey!

Probably a bigger blow for Khan and his team - surely they would have benefited most from the additional PPV revenue?

Oh of course, but that's a bit more obvious and I didn't think worth commenting on.

Turning point or is that too optimistic? I think Smith has learnt from the reaction to the Harrison PPV. Sky seem to be listening IMO.

Excellent move from Sky. They had to draw the line and send a message out to every other promoter out there that they are not willing to accept rubbish as PPV.

Gobsmacked that Sky have dropped this from PPV, but pleased as I was gonna make a stand and not buy this one (in reality I'd have probably purchased it 20 mins before kick off).

Glad Sky have got some caveats/quality control in their Khan contract, I bet Amir's pissed off that Hatton couldn't deliver an undercard.

They won't. I've always thought Sky should offer the full undercard on the Red Button service. They already have the cameras set up and who cares if there is commentary or not.

This will be a big blow to McCloskey because I think he accepted a lower fee than they wanted on the proviso that they were given a share of the PPV sales in Ireland over and above the sales for the Maidana fight.

I never even thought of that to be honest. I doubt Khan will be compensating him either.

Without doubt, it would be a great idea and I cant see that it would cost much more financially but it would add so much more for boxing geeks like me.

I would be happy with a single fixed angle camera and no commentary.

The commentary would probably be there too. They've had Robinson and Halling commentating on the undercard fights recently

Yeah, remains to be seen whether they will fight for a smaller purse.

Finally, common sense prevails.

The Khan camp should have originally been looking to use this fight as an opportunity to build the unification ppv against rather than fleece fans twice

Can't see that. What's the alternative? Don't fight and get f**k all? I believe McCloskey was guaranteed 200k. But, granted, that might have been off the back of PPV. In saying that, I do think tickets should sell well and this will generate significant revenue.
