Are you boycotting the khan fight?...
If so please sign and state why
Re: Are you boycotting the khan fight?...
Yes. Because I won't pay for it, but I will watch it.
WHY? Because I don't want to give Amir Kahn my money.

Re: Are you boycotting the khan fight?...
Khan said this was his homecoming for his fans, total bollocks Amir my son.
Admit thats it about the money and you can have my £15 quid.
Failing that, its a mutton vindaloo and a 4 four pack, watching that dancing crap on BBC1.
Choice is yours Amir!

Re: Are you boycotting the khan fight?...
I subscribe to Sky, so would've watched it on one of the Sky Sports channels.
Is the fight/bill worthy of Sky Box Office/Primetime/PPV? No, it isn't.

Look at the odds and decide if it's worthy of PPV.
Re: Are you boycotting the khan fight?...
Why are you giving Khan all the flak?
Haye v Harrison was before during an after a straight forward rip-off event, yet so many people on here slag off Khan. It is his homecoming event, just as Hatton had a homecoming event. Why does that mean people going for free?

I might boycott this and every other Khan fight until he apologises

Re: Are you boycotting the khan fight?...
Interesting responses I won't be paying I was really pleased when it was announced that t was on ss1 ! I'm a khan fan but I have not once paid for his fights nor will I - I'll pick it up for free somewhere
Re: Are you boycotting the khan fight?...
Haye/Harrison was a rip off, you're right. But, Groves/Anderson was a cracker and Stuart Hall (British champ) was also on the undercard. Still much better than what's on offer on the Khan bill, even though Haye/Harrison being on PPV was a con.gobbles wrote:Haye v Harrison was before during an after a straight forward rip-off event, yet so many people on here slag off Khan. Khan's camp really need to see the bigger picture. This upcoming bill being on normal Sky would've attracted him many more fans. It might not matter, though, as I can't see too many of Khan's fights after this one being on these shores.
Re: Are you boycotting the khan fight?...
Unfortunately. It isn't worth the fee and booking fee. I cannot think of another Promoter having such a bad week. A lot of it is their own fault and they have managed to upset several journalists and a TV channel. But have looked thoroughly unprofessional I their first attempt.
Christ knows what they'll do in 14 days after what they can managed in 7.
At least there's a healthy box office for them.
I hope we see Amir fight in the UK again.

Was Hall's fight even shown on TV?
Groves v late sub Anderson was only a great fight because Groves under-performed.
Martin Murray is easily the equal of Stuart Hall.
Khan has clearly been unlucky with the undercard here, which originally looked good. However, the Haye-Harrison bill always looked like a rip-off. Yet all the venom is aimed at Khan.
Re: Are you boycotting the khan fight?...
Highlights of Hall's fight were shown, if I remember rightly.gobbles wrote:Was Hall's fight even shown on TV?

George Groves is a lot better than anybody else currently on the Khan bill. One of Britain's best prospects.
Martin Murray or Stuart Hall? Both bills are nowhere near PPV standard, neither are these two fighters.
Welcome to modern day Britain, one great big rip off!
'Team Khan' have no vision, though. Only eyes for the pound note.
Re: Are you boycotting the khan fight?...
I don't do PPV, I didn't have to pay extra to watch Mayweather v DLH, Corrales v Castillo, Barrera v Morales, Froch v Taylor, Cotto v Margarito and many more so why would I pay extra to see bouts like Khan v McCloskey and Haye v Harrison?
Re: Are you boycotting the khan fight?...
Yes and so are the other boxing fans I know. It is a joke. I am more a McClosky fan than a Khan fan. Amir (or his team, whitever) really know how to turn people away from him. It's bizarre. It also tells me they are a wee bit worried about Paul or they would just get the fight on and let more people see it.
Another blow for UK boxing.

I most certainly am boycotting Khan's fight, in the sense that I will not buy the PPV, but I will watch it though.Jeff Thomas wrote:If so please sign and state why
Amir, I like you & I consider myself a fan, but this isn't an episode of "HUSTLE" & the con most definitely ISN'T on I'm afraid!

Re: Are you boycotting the khan fight?...
I will be boycotting. Short-sighted, egotistical and greedy just about sums them up at the minute. It's ridiculous from a business point of view and plainly ripping of the fans.
Hopefully sky will use their power now and begin to call the shots with regards to ppv (for all promoters). Criteria should be set and strictly adhered to.

Good question- paying for the bugger
Re: Are you boycotting the khan fight?...
You seem to be saying Hatton and Khan are equally deserving of a 'homecoming' PPV gimme. This isn't true though, is it?gobbles wrote:Why are you giving Khan all the flak?

Re: Are you boycotting the khan fight?...
I am cause I dont like that bloke from Team Khan, people like you jeff are fighting for 500-600 quid ( rough guess), training like a mad man aswell, while the likes of team khan members are making what ever they like out the sport as a result of greed

You're right, Haye-Harrison was a total rip off as it had a very poor undercard and the main event itself was a mismatch. But from Sky's perspective it was a very good business proposition: massive hype as Harrison is a big name. They could have had Peter Buckley versus Ernie Smith as the main support and they would have still made it PPV as it was guaranteed to sell.
With all due respect to McCloskey, who I have rated highly since his pro debut, he has very little "name" value. PPV's are made on the back of either big names or a bumper package of quality matches. This PPV has neither. I won't be paying.
I did buy Khan-Maidana as not only was it very good match on paper, we got an excellent FW Bill as part of the deal and Ortiz-Peterson on the undercard. That was definitely worth the 15 quid.
