Hatton's official website claims big name split...

According to a post by writer Jimmy G Force on the forum of Ricky Hatton's official website (rickyhitmanhatton.com), there is trouble at mill.

Jimmy alleges in his post:

"Apparently Witter and Warren have split !!

If this turns out to be the case I beg the question why ?

Because he wasnt happy with Frank forcing the Pinto fight against their wishes ? Which has become obvious now with his disputed withdrawl.

Because he has given up boxing and is now concentrating on a career in long distance running and has his eye on the New York Marathon ?

Because of recent bust-ups with Mr Warren ? The Phillips v Hatton press conference as an example of the rift ?

Because he couldnt land the fight with Rick ?

So what is it ? If its true of course."

Can't say I blame him if he has. The 'Pinto pull-out' looks bad on Witters part but maybe there was more to it. He has been with Warren for a few years looking like he was being built up to a Hatton mega domestic showdown and now that looks further away than ever although he kept his part and stayed unbeaten and looked impressive albeit against 'modest' opposition.

It wouldn't surprise me at all.

I like Witter, but his boasting of late has started to grate. He had a great chance to put forward his claims with a fight against Pinto, but he didn't.

If being forced to fight Pinto for the interim title is the reason for leaving Warren then it says more about Witter than it does anything else.

He'll be snapped up by one of the other promoters quickly enough, and maybe that will turn out to be a good thing for Witter. Either way he needs to pull his finger out.

He is 30 next year and age wont help his style.

This is all pure conjecture at this stage.
Witter is contracted to Warren - period.
If there is a "split" then it has to be of Warren's making.
Boxers do not break contracts with Warren, unless it is what Frank wants.
My view is that it's not true at this moment in time.
For Warren to get rid of a fighter, there has to be an advantage.
What's in this for the Promotor ?
He can leave Witter to fester for as long as he wants, if this is all about pulling out of the Pinto fight.
Fact is, I do know that the injury is genuine, and there's a bit of "cry wolf" reaction going on, all due to Witter's own sound bites.
Does the clause in Hatton / Witter's contract about a match up exist ?
If it does and clearly the fight won't happen is that a case for a split ?
Who knows.
The only other point I would make is that Witter will be earning very nicely thank you, under his current contract.
Who else would take him on ?
He only sells 50 tickets a fight and he's not exactly prime time TV material, is he ?
And I say all of that, as a staunch fan of his, and I truly believe he would give Hatton problems.

i feel a bit sorry for witter he's deserved his crack against hatton over the last 3 years and still hasn't had it

i'm pissed off this fight has fallen thru :x the british fight fans deserved to c this fight it would have been a mega event and probably happened in a football stadium, but no another one bites the dust and another one gone and another one gone

leave him junior fight urkal for the european title
