Andre McCoy

Post by zurdo »

In the late 70s there was a promising amatuer light heavyweight named Andre McCoy from New England someplace....Was he part of that infamous plane crash that wiped out the US boxing team in Poland?

I just had to say that I am so excited to have found this specific conversation and learn that there is a book on Andre Mccoy. I grew up in New Bedford area and Andre was one of my dad's childhood friends, as a matter of fact we just discussed Andre tonight and his tragic death. I just ordered my dad the book and am so excited to give it to him and let him know that the proceeds go to the NB boys and girls club. My dad is super found of the NB boys club because it gave him much salvation as a boy growing up poor in the projects. This completely made my night and am glad to see that Andre's sportsmanship is still being honored.
