Re: Froch's move brings him straight back to Sky Sports
Final proof really that the reason Froch couldn't get coverage was down to his promoter and not because Sky didn't have any space for extra bills
Re: Froch's move brings him straight back to Sky Sports
Good to see it's non PPV so those who would have paid, have saved the £15 primetime fee at least. Assuming he wins, I'd expect matchroom to have a dual site ppv culminating in Froch - Ward.

I think it should be mandatory to make reference to young Hearn's Adonis-like qualities every time his name is mentioned.

Time for Frochy to become a star in the eyes of the general public. He should be getting the recognition of Khan and Haye.
Forza Froch!
Forza Froch!
Re: Froch's move brings him straight back to Sky Sports
Coco, not sure how you can claim that, quote me if im wrong not sticking up for hennessey but hasn't froch been given the coverage by being exposed on ITV1 4 times out of his last 6 fights, am i correct in saying that the rybacki and pascal fights were on primetime ITV1 on a saturday night and then the taylor and dirrel fights were shown delayed on ITV1, not bad considering in that time haye and khan has been tucked away on sky, plus since fighting taylor all of his fights have been shown on showtime in the US and he has had exposure across europe in his last 2 fights, both haye and khan cannot match that. surely all the blame cannot be put on the promoter.Coco wrote:Final proof really that the reason Froch couldn't get coverage was down to his promoter and not because Sky didn't have any space for extra bills
Re: Froch's move brings him straight back to Sky Sports
Good point well raised, plus the BBC deal the pre ITV Sky deal (Mick left Sky to go to ITV in a move that was met with universal approval), a highlights package on Eurosport. Only Froch, Witter, Maccarinelli, Khan and Calzaghe have had world title defenses on terrestial TV live in recent years.h smithy wrote:Coco, not sure how you can claim that, quote me if im wrong not sticking up for hennessey but hasn't froch been given the coverage by being exposed on ITV1 4 times out of his last 6 fights, am i correct in saying that the rybacki and pascal fights were on primetime ITV1 on a saturday night and then the taylor and dirrel fights were shown delayed on ITV1, not bad considering in that time haye and khan has been tucked away on sky, plus since fighting taylor all of his fights have been shown on showtime in the US and he has had exposure across europe in his last 2 fights, both haye and khan cannot match that. surely all the blame cannot be put on the promoter.Coco wrote:Final proof really that the reason Froch couldn't get coverage was down to his promoter and not because Sky didn't have any space for extra bills
Froch winning the world title had something major to do with ITV no longer showing his fights live - and that might not necessarily have been all Mick's doing. The money went up naturally for all concerned.
Re: Froch's move brings him straight back to Sky Sports
not exactly sure on the viewing figures but surely more people watched frochs fights on itv than people have seen khan and hayes fights combined on sky ppv in recent years. so really cannot understand the comments about not had the exposure.
Re: Froch's move brings him straight back to Sky Sports
out of interest does anyone know what the viewing figure was for froch vs pascal on itv?
Re: Froch's move brings him straight back to Sky Sports
I never mentioned ITV, the point I was making was about Skyh smithy wrote:Coco, not sure how you can claim that, quote me if im wrong not sticking up for hennessey but hasn't froch been given the coverage by being exposed on ITV1 4 times out of his last 6 fights, am i correct in saying that the rybacki and pascal fights were on primetime ITV1 on a saturday night and then the taylor and dirrel fights were shown delayed on ITV1, not bad considering in that time haye and khan has been tucked away on sky, plus since fighting taylor all of his fights have been shown on showtime in the US and he has had exposure across europe in his last 2 fights, both haye and khan cannot match that. surely all the blame cannot be put on the promoter.Coco wrote:Final proof really that the reason Froch couldn't get coverage was down to his promoter and not because Sky didn't have any space for extra bills
Re: Froch's move brings him straight back to Sky Sports
fair enough, but again i guess hennessey would of approached sky, could it be down to khan going with primetime that froch has got on sky?
Re: Froch's move brings him straight back to Sky Sports
I think it has far more to having a promoter with a relationship with Sky
