Danny Williams vs Zoltan Petranyi

Danny Williams is fighting Zoltan Petranyi in Hungary on the 4th June.

For those who don't remember they fought in 2005, in Manchester. It was Danny Williams first fight after getting sparked out by Vitali Klitschko, and a warm up fight if it was needed, for the Audley Harrison match.

It's getting a bit sad seeing Danny fight these nobodies, in matches not televised in the UK. Wasn't there even an article on here that his boxing license is from Lithuania or somewhere, meaning he can't box in the UK any more?

Still, sad though it is, it's another interesting turn in Danny Williams career. I always thought the guy should write a book. Or tell his story to a ghost writer. Which British heavyweight has had as varied a career as him?

Dislocating a shoulder, but still winning a fight by knockout. A trilogy with Michael Sprott, which involved one fight whereby his opponent turned to the ref and got knocked out bringing out shouts of 'Cheat, Cheat, Cheat!' from the fans, getting KTFO by Sin Simil Sam, getting lined up to fight Mike Tyson as an 'easy win' and knocking Mike the fvck out, getting destroyed by Klit in Vegas, and seven fights after that fighting in Neath , entering a Prize Fighter, his career coming to what looked like an end against Chisora, only to pick up a foreign license so he can start knocking out bums in Europe. It'd be a hell of a story to read, you gotta admit.

For me one of the strangest fighters i've come across.....one minute looks the part, the next looks like he's never put on a pair of gloves before?? Harrison fight for example (both fighters to be fair lol) That been said i suppose he has had a varied and interesting career in and out of the ring.

However, back to the point of your post, everyone needs to earn a crust so good luck to him, but to me it just seems so.....pointless.

Oh yeah, this serves little purpose. And it's not worth him risking getting hurt, just so he can have another interesting side-note to his career. If he really needs the money, surely a book would be the best idea. He could use a Ghost Writer. He wouldn't need to box in Europe, and he could just go back to discussing boxing on Eurosport commentary and selling his book.

When you have plebs like Katie Price releasing her book, and people orgasming over it, surely a sportsman who has done all he has done in his career is worthy of releasing his book. Wouldn't sell as well as her with the big knockers obviously, but I'd read it.
