Re: Zack Page: 'I didn't lose to Tom Dallas'
I thought Page done enough but was never going to get the decison...Dallas is an accident waiting to happen&is going nowhere..
Re: Zack Page: 'I didn't lose to Tom Dallas'
It's quite rare, but I've not seen a single person outside of IJL and Dallas himself that thought he'd won
Re: Zack Page: 'I didn't lose to Tom Dallas'
I say rematch and Page can bring his own ref this time.
Re: Zack Page: 'I didn't lose to Tom Dallas'
Absolutely no doubt he won that fight. IJL looks poor as a result of his 'favour' now.
We are the new Germany because that was hideous officiating. When you hear Page talk, you realise this is a guy trying to get on with his career too. He is not some clown or filler. He is a boxer too. I'm only glad that he enjoyed his trip to Blighty.
Whilst it's easy to critic Tom Dallas from the comfort of a computer, let's just say he requires 200% improvement to even go the distance with even a British champion I'm afraid. He really lacked any sort of drive or determination in there. He fiddled around pot-shotting, following his man like a dog follows a ball.

i personally thought dallas just nicked it, page was to negative as usual but deserves a rematch !
Re: Zack Page: 'I didn't lose to Tom Dallas'
Even Maloney said Dallas lost the fight
Re: Zack Page: 'I didn't lose to Tom Dallas'
Page won the fight in decisive fashion. Dallas may have got away with the win, but he won't be going far. A below par and lackluster show by Dallas, not impressive by Dallas, he's a KO in the waiting.

good honest pro, who understands the 'ways' of the pro game, happy to collect his cheque but he knows the 'bobby moore' ..
Re: Zack Page: 'I didn't lose to Tom Dallas'
Page is damn right. He clearly won this fight.
Re: Zack Page: 'I didn't lose to Tom Dallas'
We could have told him that. Although if he was so bothered he should have stepped up another gear instead of coasting, we all knew he would get robbed if he didnt make it absolutely 100% obvious, and page has had enough decisions wrongly go against him to know this.
Its not an excuse for the outcome but he must have known the score when he got in the ring.

maloney said we got lucky tonight, he never said we lost, i understand why people think he lost, page dident make to much of a fuss after did he ?DougieC30 wrote:Even Maloney said Dallas lost the fight

Did you watch the video? Page obviously thinks he won the fight.jessi wrote:maloney said we got lucky tonight, he never said we lost, i understand why people think he lost, page dident make to much of a fuss after did he ?DougieC30 wrote:Even Maloney said Dallas lost the fight
When a promoter says that their fighter was lucky to win, that usually means that the promoter thought the other fighter should have gotten the verdict. Even if we just take Maloney's comments at face value, he doesn't think his own charge did better than a draw. I personally think that even a draw would have been unfair to Page.
Re: Zack Page: 'I didn't lose to Tom Dallas'
Will the BBBofC be reviewing the scoring of this fight?
Re: Zack Page: 'I didn't lose to Tom Dallas'
Tom Dallas looked predictable all night got better late on but zack page looked classy from the off was nice to see a journey man from America have a good go and looking in shape he was robbed by the judges . I think Tom Dallas would have learnt more had the decision gone the other way cos you look a lot harder at yourself to ensure no repeat loss next time out he will have to improve massively and I hope he does .
Re: Zack Page: 'I didn't lose to Tom Dallas'
Fair play to Page for being so honest and balanced so soon after the end of the fight when his blood must still have been up. I'm now a fan even though he's not the most exciting to watch.

Re: Zack Page: 'I didn't lose to Tom Dallas'
I can't see how IJL gave the fight to Dallas. I was watching it in the pub, with the sound turned down, and was talking to my mate at the time saying how surprised I was that Page comfortably won.
Went to the toilet, came back, and he told me Dallas had won. I thought he was taking the piss! Disgraceful decision.

Re: Zack Page: 'I didn't lose to Tom Dallas'
How come boxers like Page don't do that bit more to put the decision beyond doubt?
I mean this can't be the first time he's been in a close fight away from home, and he must of lost a few he should of won.
Dallas looked tired and Page looked like he had the energy to land more punches , but didn't make enough of the situation.

Re: Zack Page: 'I didn't lose to Tom Dallas'
But he was winning and he was comfortable. He shouldn't need to open up a bit more and give Dallas an opportunity to actually land something when everybody knew he was ahead. You could say that's naive but for me the whole fault in this instance lies with the ref who was only ever going to lift one persons hand. When you consider just how comfortable Page looked only makes the result look even more ridiculousOld bones Ian wrote:How come boxers like Page don't do that bit more to put the decision beyond doubt?
