Sullivan vs Jackson

Post by THE DANCING MASTER »

Hi Folks,

I have been following the boxrec site for sometime and thought that I would get 2004 off to a good start by finally signing up. Now that I have dazzled you with that bit of footwork, let me throw this one out for a debate. Who would have won between Peter Jackson and John L. Sullivan? I have always held it against Sullivan, with all due respect to his power and prowess, that he drew the color line against Jackson. Corbett called Jackson the greatest fighter he ever faced, so Jackson may well have been a bit much for the Great John L. Any comments?

NO FILM ON EITHER ONE, SO WE WILL NEVER KNOW FOR SURE. THE TIME FRAME OF THEIR MEETING WOULD HAVE BEEN A DETERMINING FACTOR. IF JACKSON FACED JLS WHEN THE BOSTON MAN FACED CORBETT -OVER THE HILL AND OUT OF SHAPE- THEN JACKSON WOULD HAVE HAD A BIG EDGE. HAD JACKSON FACED THE SULLIVAN THAT FOUGHT KILRAIN OR PADDY RYAN - A WELL FIT, SOLID PUNCHER- THEN IT MIGHT BE A SULLIVAN VICTORY.

Looking at their records and the discription of their respective fighting attributes and skills I think that Jackson would probably have been too quick and skilled for Sullivan. One main example can be seen in their respective performances against Corbett.... Corbett destroyed Sullivan but was fought to a standstill and a draw in a classic with Jackson. Jackson was probably Corbettes equal in speed and skill so even against a prime mid1880s Sullivan would have had too much skill and smarts for the Boston strongboy..... 8) 8) 8)

Silkov clearly thinks this forum is his own personal toilet judging by the turd he dropped in the above post.

More toilet talk, Silkov is implying he wants to make the two-backed beast.

ali shill..tossing in a quote from othello doesn't add enough class to redeem the rest of your writing.

on the other hand..considering your forum name...are you doing a parody of the now banished terap and putting us on? am i just being dense and missin the satire here? if i am, shame on me...if not, shame on you.
