Good big domestic fights there but why are they not fighting each other..
Re: Macklin,Barker,Murray,Smith,Saunders.
I reckon macklin will only fight any off them if he loses against sturm, understand him not wanting to fight murray as it would be a backwards step too big of risk with too little reward, Same again with barker he's after a world title so dont think he'd risk fighting murray, bigh wrote:Good big domestic fights there but why are they not fighting each other..
murray and smith looks do-able, with smith saying he's after a title at middleweight, so with murray lined up for the british against nick blackwell, could see this as a big defense for him, good north-west derby. Saunders looked impressive in his last fight, would like to see him in with someone like renda or danny butler before he starts talkin british title fights, saying that blackwells got a shot and he's only had nine so fuk knows, i know martins been pressing for the barker and macklin fights but he needs more bargaining power before they'll take it imo,

3 words: Money, risk and reward.
Macklin will get a bigger purse for fighting Sturm and a bigger title(if he wins) so he pulled out against Barker.
Barker is ranked top ten by all sanctioning bodies and is in a good position to fight in an eliminator/get a title shot. Murray is a tough fight for him but by beating him he wouldn't gain anything(titles or ranking) whilst Murray would have everything to gain.
Smith and Saunders are also unranked and have no titles so same story as Murray.

Barker and Murray will most likely fight if they both lose their respective title shots. It will be a big money fight and will shoot one of them back into world contention. I think that Saunders needs a few more fights before we can say for definite he is at British level.
I think the Smith Murray fight is a no brainer great SFN headliner get it on in the Echo and it will do well.

Saunders looks tasty but he hasn't had a proper fight yet, and i reckon he's gonna have trouble making 160.

Trouble making 160?! the lad should be at 154 if you ask me definitely shouldnt be at 168Dan Dares wrote:Saunders looks tasty but he hasn't had a proper fight yet, and i reckon he's gonna have trouble making 160.

barkers the best middleweight in the country
Re: Macklin,Barker,Murray,Smith,Saunders.
He does look very, very impressive. But he's only fought complete plums so far.Arnie wrote:Saunders beats them all now imho
Barker, at this stage, would give him a lesson in my opinion.
I really like Barker and Saunders

Not a chance!!!!Arnie wrote:Saunders beats them all now imho
Re: Macklin,Barker,Murray,Smith,Saunders.
Throw in McEwan who is back and has a world ranking
edit; i see macklin, murray and barker all higher ranked with WBO. Still a good fighter to add to the domestic mix all the same

Cello Renda would be a good step up for him IMO, or even Sam Hortonjake the snake wrote:Billie Joe out next on Murray vs Mitchell undercard , some one like Bradley Pryce would be a step up and good test at this stage for Billie.

Plays with both of them would'nt go past 4 rounds, think both are are retired tho... Step up for now would be Matt Hainy Tony Hill at Middle weight they are a step up but on the Opposition that he has fought so far but he plays with them as well.. The Fella is Different Class
