Ten days for Freitas...

To decide what weight he belongs at - it sounded like a dominant display last night and I expect him to stay at higher weight. He hurt Griogorian on several occasions and officially had him on the floor three times (although none of the KD were clear, according to fightnews).

Of course, with Gavin Rees at #2 and Gomez and #5 these next ten days could be interesting.

i'd like to c freitas give the winner of the casamayor-corrales fight a shot, i assume casamayor-corrales is in stone i read about it a few months back that a return was happening.

or maybe jump ship to HBO i hear that was his last fight of his showtime contract so maybe a fight with mayweather that could be mighty interesting :)

I'd like to see him move up to Lightweight permanently and stay there, he could tempt either Corrales or Casamayor up there for a fight. I also heard at least two of the three knockdowns were contentious and apparently Eddie Cotton had a poor night's refereeing all round.

Freitas-Corrales would be a good fight as both have power but neither have really strong chins either so it would be a real war, but i favour Freitas. To be honest i think Corrales is a little overrated, he beat decent men in Angel Manfredy and unbeaten Roberto Garcia but no no one else really, he stopped Derrick Gainer but i never rated him anyway (moreso after his lacklustre showing with Marquez). Corrales was then destroyed in 10 one sided rounds with Mayweather and was beaten last time out by Casamayor, which leads me to......

Freitas-Casamayor II is an interesting proposition, i like Freitas but i think he looked a little vulnerable against Casamayor in there first fight. Joel seemed to switch off at the end when he should have been pressing the fight against a visibly tiring Freitas, many people think the fight was close even with Casamayor having two points lost (one for a low blow and one for an alleged knockdown) so if he had pressed the issue he could have won the fight. If they fought again at Super Featherweight i can only see Casamayor winning, Freitas has trouble with Boxers and Casamayor is a very good one, add in Freitas's weight making struggles and suspect chin (see Barry Jones and last time out versus Barrios) and Joel has a great chance to win the rematch.

I think the rematch has been sealed, although it's not certain if the WBO title will be on the line, it is likely although both Casamayor and Corrales have said that we don't need titles to know we are the best.

Remember their first fight was an eliminator.

I'm pretty sure Casamayor would beat Corrales and Freitas (I think he did anyway).

Nah, Popo beats Casamayor easier next time. He looked vunerable against Corrales.

Good typo on the BBC site, apparently Freitas knocked Grigorian OUT 4 times in the same fight!!

Not sure about Freitas v Casmayor II (not even sure I want to see it anyway) but I've always fancied Corrales to bang the Brazlian out in a thriller, and still do.

The reason that Cassamayor looked vulnerable, is twofold.

1 Corralles is without a doubt, the biggest single punch banger in the division.

2 Cassamayor wanted to show he could punch as well as box, and eschewed his normal style.

I think Corrales will box Freitas this time around, but sit on his punches more when he lets his hands go, I wouldn't be surprised if he stopped him in a rematch, though at lighweight, I am not sure Cassamayor would be as strong as Freitas.

Assuming the fight was at lightweight, and Casamayor could hold the weight, then i would back him in a rematch with Freitas.

casamayor is a nightmare - he does enough to squeak past most opponents - not a fave of mine.

Up a weight I'd fancy Freitas to KO him - Corrales hurt him last time but I don't ezpect him to beat Casamayor in the return.

I think Freitas has more to offer at Lightweight - his famous struggle with the weight is lessened and he has the punch to hurt anyone up to middleweight.

Corrales always recovers very quickly from the knockdowns, as Casamayor found out when he tried to finish him a couple of times. And I agree the Cuban holds a shot very well: he went 12 with Freitas after all, just that Diego is a huge Tommy Hearns type puncher who will hurt anyone he lands on.

I think Freitas has avoided a Casamayor rematch, so I can't see him moving back down to meet him. Let's face it, the Cuban is a nightmare to fight for anyone.

Frietas v Mayweather would be good, but I guess it's the old Showtime/HBO problem.

Many of the Jr Lights are talking about moving up - so perhaps Acelino will bide his time at lightweight and wait for the big names to move up and meet him at 135.

I remember Frietas getting floored off the dynamite punching Barry Jones
I wish Diego would stop fighting feather fisted no hopers like Mayweather and Casamayor.
I see a fight with the murderous punching Stevie Forbes in the distance........
