Clinton Woods
Clinton Woods
I wonder if Clinton is hankering to fight again ?
Maybe at 175 or possibly Cruiser.
He was naff in the Tarver fight by his own admission, but I bet he looks at the current names still earning pay days and fancies it from time to time.

Re: Clinton Woods
Did you watch him against Cloud?! He fought like he didn't have it in him anymore.
Stay retired Clinton.....let the new batch come through.

Re: Clinton Woods
I know the fella well and i dont think he'll be back, from where he came from thru the ups and downs in his career to what he achieved still makes me wonder did i dream it!! I think Froch can beat Johnson but if Glencoffe comes through and wins the super six and Clinton got made an offer you never know but i agree that Woods should stay retired.

Looked fairly content at the last lot of boxing I saw him at (he was next to me) but who knows.

I know Glyn Rhodes was encouraging him to move into training. He was helping Liam Cameron a bit at one stage I believe.

Re: Clinton Woods
what fight were u watchin, Clinton fought Cloud with an ear infection against a good fighter and put up a great fight, he came back late on in the fight and finished the stronger, its a fact clinton hates fightin abroad as he loves the uk and Cloud caught clinton with big shots but credit for finishin on top,horndawg80 wrote:Did you watch him against Cloud?! Re: Clinton Woods
Clinton had a perfect career.
Squeezed every ounce from his talent and opportunities.
I'd hate to see him come back.
Pity he never got a Calzaghe fight perhaps, would have been a fun match-up but right back to Starie he wasn't keen on movers.
But give him a brawl every day of the week and he'd be in it til the end.

Re: Clinton Woods
Its just a shame he supports the wrong team in SheffieldI like guys like Clinton Woods. Genuine, down-to-earth bloke. Whatever his future holds, I hope he's happy.
In all seriousness, hope he stays retired, great bloke in and out of the ring,
Re: Clinton Woods
Agreed, I thought he did himself proud in the Cloud fight, most people felt beforehand that he could get seriously hurt after his performance against Tarver and Cloud massive reputation at the time. He took everything Cloud could throw at him and stayed competitive throughout.steelcity 65 wrote:what fight were u watchin, Clinton fought Cloud with an ear infection against a good fighter and put up a great fight, he came back late on in the fight and finished the stronger, its a fact clinton hates fightin abroad as he loves the uk and Cloud caught clinton with big shots but credit for finishin on top,horndawg80 wrote:Did you watch him against Cloud?! In my opinion it restored his rep (if that was needed) after the Tarver fight and he bowed out at the right time. He can look back on his career with pride, especially that performance in the Hoye fight which was punch perfect.
For somebody who hated fighting abroad, fair play for having the balls to do so against guys like Jones and Tarver. Would have loved Froch's and Wood's primes to have coincided, would have been a war

Seen this Gym, only looks small though and located on an industrial estate that sometimes gets chock a block with parked cars.Pugilist-specialist wrote:Don't think he has his own business, but opens his own gym soon.Gazmac81 wrote:think i read somwhere he did ok with his cash and has own business too so no need

A bit like yerself as well Micheal, you didn't always look the part but you could have a right fcuckin row!! Was in Chris Emmanuals corner when you beat him early in your career!
