Tubbs v Tucker?
I was surprised at the skill level Tubbs showed against Bonecrusher and Page while watching these fights recently, as a contender I think he was very lively. Put a solid round in against Tyson too, before getting sparked.
Also watched Tucker v Lewis for the first time and he gave Lewis alot to think about. Certainly no walk-over for Lewis.
Now I know that Tubbs was prone to balloon in weight, got ko'd early several times later on, Tucker was getting drubbed by Buster (not such a disgrace in hindsight), the Lewis that Tucker met was not yet the finished article.......
...but both guys had fighting heart and a decent skill set. I can see some potential for an entertaining match here (from a tactical perspective) some time in the late 80's.
Tubbs using his mobility to land from awkward angles, Tucker also with good mobility and athleticism for his size.
Tucker can use the reach to keep Tubbs at the end of the jab and had a useful uppercut too, which would probably find Tubbs on the way in. However, Tubbs had a habit of leaning off to the side while letting quick punches go. Negated his power and leverage but made him slightly harder to hit.
Tucker's edge in power wins it, for me. Close decision, interesting but not exciting fight.
