Steve Murray returns to the ring...

Steve Murray is poised to make his comeback on January 24 at the Wembley Conference Centre on the Danny Williams-Michael Sprott undercard.
The Harlow puncher, 21-3 (15), has been out of the ring since Graham Earl stopped him in two rounds in a British title eliminator a year ago. Earl went on to capture the British lightweight title with a narrow points win over Bobby Vanzie, who, in an earlier defence, had halted Murray in seven exciting rounds - but only after Steve had floored him twice in the opening round.
Still only 28, Murray is set to reappear in a six-rounder.
Also on the Wembley undercard will be Matt Macklin, Kevin Mitchell and Lee Beavis. No opponents announced as yet.

Lets hope he's done some serious work on his defence - unlikely if he's stuck with Jimmy Tibbs.

Oh dear, Murray looked really shot to me of late. I don't see it all going too far.

Im not sure whta he has left to offer the game really even at domestic level.

I assume he has really thought about this and that he must really want it...either that or he is skint!

Probably beats climbing trees for a living.

Can't blame him, as he's still young enough to give it a go I suppose.
He was on the verge of crashing the big time during that first round with Vanzie, but ultimately blew it.
I still don't know how Vanzie survived those two knockdowns, great comeback though.

Murray has an exciting style and will undoubtedly give his all, but as mentioned his leaky defence will always be an achillies heel.

I was told that Murray has been training with Jim McDonnell and apparently is in pretty good shape from what I've heard.

In fact, Takaloo said that from what he's seen of him in the gym he may even surprise a few people.

yep, Murray is with Jimmy Mac now...
maybe the training may help him make the weight easier which was always a problem for steve...

Earl fought a smart fight in that he backed up Murray and kept him backed up. Romanov did the same. Allow Murray to come forward, and he's liable to take your head off.

That's just the point though isn't it - the blueprint to beat Murray is set.

His footwork and defence is/was so poor that just about everyone above journeyman level will fancy their chances at, if not stopping him, then beating him.

This is great news, I was a big Steve Murray fan, he lived in the next street to me.

Can't wait to see him in action action if he has teamed up with Jimmy Mc, that can only do him good..

Yes, Steve ran out of gas big style against Ramamov so Jimmy Mac will help him there.

One fight I would like to see is Murray vs Thaxton, that would be a good one.
