...is great. NO trash talk, no idiots, just excellent debate and 100% boxing.
Proof that it can be done. On the other board however...

I think without a doubt this is the best Forum I've ever been a part of, the depth of knowledge on here is staggering, sometimes it embarrasses me that I know so little, especially where British boxing is concerned.

Ain't that the truth....
I used to think I knew a lot about boxing

Though in line with that, this forum is very inclusive of "newbies" too.
It doesn't decend into a competition of "who knows the most", and all views are respected which is great.

Boxrec is great. You write my previews for me in BN! I hope none of you read the BN too intently because you'll come across lines that may have you thinking: "I'm sure I posted that on Boxrec!"
You did.

As i said on here before at this moment in time IMO Boxrec is by far the best and most knowledgeable British forum on the net.
Im glad our forums get on and are having fun with the prediction league although however wins will be murder for weeks...
When you come on here you can be assured that people respect your opinions yet if they disagree they will challenge them and debate with you but in a respectful way.
Also people are prepared to listen to others and dont ram there bias's down your throat.

Well done to Bennie and co...

This forum is the best around, the current scene used to be the same trust me, but it is a pale spectre of it's former glory. Nothing to do with the same old clientelle it's a new batch of eastside style posters who have arrived on the scene lately. The forum has bene significantally dumbed down while this forum goes from strength to strength, even people like Tomato Can are staying away. He was a rock in that forum.

I was just looking at BN bennie - his story about Warren's boy Maynard was pretty hilarious - gave him a seat behind a pillar! Really petty stuff, like being back in the school yard.
Reminds me of the Mullan / Duff dispute in the 80's - banned BN from his shows but it only lasted 2 weeks
Don't know why Evans (?) had to write a
letter in to reply to Warren's rant. As a BN writer he should've at least been given space on Abram's 2 pages, like Warren..

On this topic, is there anything that members feel is lacking on the forum! I know the lack of avatars makes the place a bit dull-looking, but at the end of the day we're all here to talk boxing so I can live with that (begrudingly so).
But has anybody got any ideas on making the place even better!

Its a great Forum. I dont post on any others.
I get out of my pram now and again and i'm sure i piss a few people off (Particularly with my opinions of Lennox) but on the whole i find the debates interesting and itellectual and I try to get on with people.
Long live Boxrec.com

I haven't seen the BN yet, but when Claude complained to Richard Maynard about his seat (he couldn't see anything!), Maynard responded: "Frank wants you there!"

Cheers for encouraging me to come here Bennie, it's really helped me a lot in establishing contacts and broadening my knowledge too. Aside from the forum at Cyberboxingzone, (which is far less active than this one), I cannot think of another which has as many people who are actually actively involved in the sport...

Too true. I know Barry McGuigan and Ian Darke are among us. David Barnes, too.

I like the fact this forum isn't crammed full of fornicating irritating smiley's all the time, it just makes things harder to read for me.
It's the quality of the posts and posters that matters, not the quality of those irritating fornicating graphics... :x

What about an annual or 6 monthly meet up (at one of the shows or a drink or something like that).
Putting faces to names might give posting a bit more of an edge?
What do you guys think?

Fantastic! He should've run his report with a picture of the pillar instead of Hatton.

Frank does appear get very childish when someone has a difference of opinion with him. He appears to have been used to getting his own way for quite a while, and , whilst I hold no animosity to FW, its good to see Claude standing his ground. I must say that Claude come accross much better than FW in his reply.
Warren comes across as a ranting spoilt child. ie: You slag us off but you never slag them off. Really childish.
I dont know about you guys, but I think Claude does a very good job.
Instead of slagging Claude off FW should put his efforts into improving the quality of his title fights and put on some fights worthy of World Title status.

Great idea. Logistics always comes into play, but I'm sure it could be done.

Bennie, the lack of avatars etc is a bonus. I'm hear to read boxing opinion and fact, not look at pictures of porn stars.....(which most of them seem to be)
I wouldn't say Boxrec is particularly "glossy" to the eye, but then does it have to be? All seems fine to me. The structure is right and thats the most important thing I reckon.

Why dont we have a poll and take it from there?
