Thanks for the compliments guys, yeah Bennie I do enjoy the course and I'm taking my first lecture next month which I am not looking forward to doing.lightsoot wrote:Good one, Stu. I think Michael Sprott and Danny Williams would be ideal cases for a sports psyschologist to analyse. Williams-Sprott 3 will be a real mental battle.
One of the things that concerns me about Williams is that he has said that he wouldn't mind trying a sport psychologists. That can be a good thing, but sometimes I think that in the long-term the fact he's admitting to problems shows an "excuse" type syndromme. I personally think the best long-term affect happens when coaches/organisations force a sport psychologist and the athlete doesn't "believe" he needs one at first.
Although, I've always got the impression that Danny is not afraid to say if he's not happy (to the public) so perhaps by saying what he's thinking, he'll be okay with a Sport Psychologist.
