Most disappointing performances...
Most disappointing performances...
i've never been as disappointed as i was on saturday night...i didnt get out of bed sunday, skived off work on monday and wasn't able to even talk about the fight til tuesday...
i was convinced haye would either do it...or at the least bring wlad out of his shell and force a fight.
worst apart from that? probably hatton / mayweather tho the ref's actions made that feel more like the aftermath of a football match than anything else - 'we wuz robbed'....

Sickener that Matt. I loved Hamed, I really thought he was going to be a great. I guess the signs were there from the Kelly fight onwards but I thought the Prince would beat Barrera.Matt W wrote:Naz vs Barrera.
Hatton although beaten by Mayweather, he never stopped coming and trying to win he went out on his shield. It was Mayweathers brillance rather than a dissapointing showing from Hatton.

Clottey v Cotto
After round 7 he stopped fighting. Perhaps Uncle Bob told him he be on the first plane back to Accra if he messes up the superfight between
He just wouldn't let his hands go, although I'm certain Uncle Bob must have let him know that he shouldn't dare mess sup the proposed superfight between Cotto and Pacman

Clottey v Pacman
Another case of gaining a moral victory.
--------------
Wlad v Haye
No comment.
---------------
Witter v Bradley
On ITV. 2 weeks before Hatton's homecoming. If he had won and won in style he could have called Hatton out on terrestrial TV
He stunk the joint out. Bradley is an excellent fighter but i don't think he is special

James Toney vs Roy Jones.
Re: Most disappointing performances...
Oh, and Clinton Woods vs Antonio Tarver. That looked winnable for Woods but mental he didn't seem to be there.
Re: Most disappointing performances...
Should have known a lot better but Tyson v Lewis.
Re: Most disappointing performances...
in fairness to witter (who i've never been a fan of....like everyone else) he had just lost his father before that fight..lefthook82 wrote:Clottey v Cotto

Tony Bellew V Ovill II Was really looking forward to it especially after the drugs comments and how Tony was going to smash his comments down his throat, very dissapointed in the actual fight

Pacquaio v Mosley
The fight should of never been made in the first place, but I still expected something better. Too much touching gloves, Pac man not letting his hands go and Mosley not wanting it

He lost to the pound for pound best fighter...i was one of the few who thought Hatton would beat him early, how wrong was iBIGMARK wrote:Hatton - Pacman for me. I really thought Ricky would really give it a good go and test Manny, i'm not saying that he would of won but the way he went at Pacman in that first round was just clueless, playing straight into Manny's hands. Even before the fight Roach was saying how they would KO Hatton as he tends drop his left when throwing punches and sure enough they KO him like that.

Honeyghan v Breland, i really thought Lloyd was going to do well, but he was out of the fight so early, ended up just feeling sorry for him.

Bruno-Tyson II
I love Frank, but he was shite that night

Re: Most disappointing performances...
Hatton v Pacquiao was cringe-worthy, the only solace to be taken from that night was the fact he was in against brilliance!
Re: Most disappointing performances...
Good choice and I agree. Not knocking Clinton but with his skills and ruggedness, he could have won that fight. He basically let Tarver tee off and do whatever he wanted.Matt W wrote:Oh, and Clinton Woods vs Antonio Tarver. That looked winnable for Woods but mental he didn't seem to be there.
The Woods who fought Glencoffe 3x would have won that fight.
