We need more British women boxing fans like this.

Post by exittored »

I'm sure some of you are already familiar with this woman, there may of already been threads about Jessi in the past but i just watched her video on Youtube about why she loved boxing and was completely captivated not just by her obvious beauty but more importantly her knowledge and passion for the sport of boxing which really won me over.

BOXING: MY STORY/WHY I LOVE IT
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gOxxMyJD ... ideo_title

and i really enjoy her Prediction/post fight videos too like this one
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=90qWj9g3 ... ideo_title

Channel 5 or Sky need to get this woman on board to do some interviews/broadcasting especially as i'm finding more women are getting into Boxing nowadays plus she would offer an alternative view to your usual brigade of Colin Hart, Johnny Nelson etc etc.

Any thoughts?

Exit,

Do me a favour and don't lump me with the men on your list.
The Setana show was a breath of change and the BBC London show is still miles on front of all the other shite where your men appear.
Both shows had no bias and both shows lived in the present - your men are guilty of the reverse in both cases. Take me off the list, thanks.
The woman in the vids is perfectly fine and would walk into a slot at SKY. Good luck to her.

Adios.

Sorry mate i think you do a great job and we need to see more of you on radio and television and i totally respect the brilliant job you've done in the past, present and hopefully future representing boxing. I guess i was referering more towards a male dominated industry rather then the actual quality of the men i listed.

Just to add it would make for an interesting boxing show if you and Jessi hooked up to do a boxing show together 'The Buncey and Jessi boxing hour' or something like that, could be a winner with the networks.

Thats harsh and disrespectful, i would accept that view if she came across as some air headed bimbo who didn't know the first thing about boxing but you can tell from her videos that she has a real passion and love for the sport so all power to her especially as she talks far more sense then most of the male youtube boxing bloggers.

Agreed. I like MachoMan, but I do think he jumps in with an opinion without thinking, sometimes, and this would be one of those situations.

Jessi is obviously interested in boxing, she speaks very nicely and she seems very intelligent. She would, imo, improve the chat on current boxing shows and she would also provide some eye candy to hook more casual viewers.

She is a woman and she likes boxing - so?

It will be more to do with the way she looks - fair play and I'm sure she knows her onions as the much as the rest of us, but deserving of some kind of career out of it? Who says sexism is dead.

Come on guys its refreshing to find a women that

1. Will talk about boxing.
2. Have some sort of idea about what their talking about.

If i had a $ for everytime I've had defend boxing as more than just violence in a most primitive form. I'd be a rich man.

I say we get behind her and wish her the best.

She will be on the BBC London 94.9 show this Thursday - she has her slot because she is young and a woman. However, that means she has to be much better than the young men who demand a place on the show - bias/sexism works both ways, trust me.
I have given a lot of people space on this show and the Setanta show - young journalists have come in on a regular basis and on the radio show I gave a dozen wannabe writers/broadcasters a chance. She is just the latest and if you want to be the next then email me: [email protected] - it's that simple, trust me.

Sexism? It would work the other way round as well. It's not a double standard.

Mrs Banjo knows more about boxing than most on here, here's some examples...

She made fun of anyone who picked Ricky Hatton over Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao, even predicting the rounds he would be knocked out by them correctly.

She said Erik Morales would last the distance against Maidana.

She predicted Sergio Martinez to KO Paul Williams within 3 rounds.

She picked Baldomir over Judah.

She picked Castillo over Corrales in their rematch and within 6 rounds.

and many more.

Fair play to you Buncey, you are always willing to give up and comers a leg up. You gave Steve Wellings a slot when he brought his book out this year and that wasn't forgotten over here.
