Cracking match up, Appelby is a lot better than he showed against Laryea (but that doesn't say much!!) Billy Nelson will know doubt of got Appelby in great shape and improved his skills a bit. I may be bias but I can really see an upset here!

Cracking fight.
Appleby for me.
Appleby for me.
Re: Appebly v Walsh Sept 30 2011
Appleby isn't good he can't beat anyone of real quality and Walsh will beat him without too much fuss
Re: Appebly v Walsh Sept 30 2011
A good fight, appleby can be a bit hit and miss tho.
If he has been training in Billy Nelson's gym then hopefully some good sparring with the likes of Burns and Simpson has set him up to be ready for a long hard night.

nice fight
Re: Appebly v Walsh Sept 30 2011
Walsh for me, easy.
Re: Appebly v Walsh Sept 30 2011
Definitely a good match between two top British title contenders. Appleby's experience at a better level or Walsh's enthusiasm :?? Tricky one to pick.
The O'Meara v Thoms clash really catches the eye. Presumably for the Southern Area title. I think O'Meara will come good in this one on points or late stoppage.

Seems like a mental fight for appelby to take right now. If he loses where does he go?

I must say I thought Walsh was one of the best I fought. Very accurate, busy & a decent dig. Personally I think he beats appleby. I think I'm on the bill against peter mcdonnagh. Peets a real top fella & we go back. But I'll be trying my best , we,ll see

Applebys got the experience at championship level having been the 12 round distance 3 times. walsh looks to be an excellent prospect but applebys tough. Great match up. Appleby for me in a close fight.
Re: Appebly v Walsh Sept 30 2011
I can't see anyone around Area level scoring an "easy" stoppage over O'Meara. Steve's a solid pro.

Shut up mate Appleby's no good,he was British champ at 21 and hes currently better than when he was the champion beleive me,both boys have the making of war and Paul hits much harderCamcas wrote:Appleby isn't good he can't beat anyone of real quality and Walsh will beat him without too much fuss
Re: Appebly v Walsh Sept 30 2011
Been in Billy Nelson's gym all week with a couple of my fighters, Appelby is a good kid and will be a whole lot better under Billy. Hits hard and is as tough as they come!

He beat John Simpson and Esham PickeringCamcas wrote:Appleby isn't good he can't beat anyone of real quality and Walsh will beat him without too much fuss

I agree with you dougie that John won that fight - the KD should have been a slip - however the quoted poster said appleby cant beat anyone of note which is not true (he beat simpson - ok the mistake by the ref gave him the fight but even if appleby did lose, it was very close and would be a better result than any on walsh's ledger and he also beat pickering)DougieC30 wrote:Oh now that's a different topicsgtcecil wrote:He beat John Simpson and Esham PickeringCamcas wrote:Appleby isn't good he can't beat anyone of real quality and Walsh will beat him without too much fuss
I still state that John didn't lose that fight. Ref counted a knock down for appleby when am not so sure. Think it was only one point in it. Anyway going back to the topic, I think Appleby may pull this off. Had a under par Performance against Larea and knows that another performance like that will take him back a few steps, so am expecting Appleby to be at the top of his game and maybe wear Walsh down for a late stapppage.
Re: Appebly v Walsh Sept 30 2011
Agreed. Appleby has and can beat decent guys. This fight is a good fight for both guys and am sure both camps will be confident in getting a win. Both lads must get some right good sparring sessions. Am sure Walsh will have round after round of sprring with his brothers which can only be a good thing as both are good fighters and then Paul has Simmy, Ricky Burns, Micheal Roberts. Am sure both guys will be ready to rock and roll, may the best man win.sgtcecil wrote:I agree with you dougie that John won that fight - the KD should have been a slip - however the quoted poster said appleby cant beat anyone of note which is not true (he beat simpson - ok the mistake by the ref gave him the fight but even if appleby did lose, it was very close and would be a better result than any on walsh's ledger and he also beat pickering)DougieC30 wrote:Oh now that's a different topicsgtcecil wrote: He beat John Simpson and Esham Pickering
