Fury's next opponent?
It's only a fortnight until Fury is scheduled to fight again.
anyone know when his opponent will be announced?
It pretty short notice to get a decent opponent.

Im not sure? Isnt pricey in the running soon? How do you feel he would fend up to price? I hope that maybe in the future i will be knocking on his door for a shot :)
Re: Fury's next opponent?
IMO Price would lay him out in about 4 rounds. To powerful for Fury and more of a text book fighter. Would love to see this fightLoveday6224 wrote:Im not sure? Isnt pricey in the running soon? What happens if Fury catches him clean with a hard shot?Spiker wrote:IMO Price would lay him out in about 4 rounds. To powerful for Fury and more of a text book fighter. Re: Fury's next opponent?
As the fight is in Belfast, they will probably bring in a Northern Ireland Heavyweight for the "home interest" angle.
So, bearing that in mind the most high profile you could get is: Martin Rogan.
Apprently there have been talks but Rogie is not happy with the way he has been treated and the money wasn't right for him, he wanted more.
So, bearing that in mind: you would be looking at Darren Corbett(
) the former Prizeifghter and succesful Cruiserweight.
Actually, I heard rumours on Tuesday that Fury's people had been in contact with Corbett about the fight.
Other viable contenders are: Kevin McBride, Colin Kenna, Coleman Barrett

Where does the received wisdom that Price has a crap chin come from?keithmoonhangover wrote:What happens if Fury catches him clean with a hard shot?Spiker wrote:IMO Price would lay him out in about 4 rounds. Re: Fury's next opponent?
Fury lacks technique and so doesn't have a big punch. However, he does seem to have a decent chin.
I think it's really disappointing that after a career best win, in his last fight against del boy, they've not managed to get a decent opponent, who has a few weeks notice.
Another good fight with good audience figures could mean more boxing on C5!
Pricey at this point has the power and techniques to hurt most heavyweights but is a bit chinny himself. Somewhere along the line these two will fight, I just hope fury improves his fitness and punch technique, and doesn't uppercut himself in the chin!

Re: Fury's next opponent?
Whoever he fights though it's good that he's keeping busy. He says he wants to fights atleast twice maybe 3 times more this year. Does it really matter who he fights in Belfast? Alot of boxers have interim fights. Aslong as he fights Perez,Price,Dallas or Sexton after I think everyone will be happy.andy skill wrote:Fury lacks technique and so doesn't have a big punch. I mean't the shocking decision Mcdermott got against fury. But Price/Mcdermott is no longer on the boxrec schedule.keithmoonhangover wrote:Is Price still fighting McDermott next?yid14 wrote:Not after the Mcdermott decision anyway.mrpedigree wrote: Because in the armatures he hit the deck more times than an epileptics front door keys ?? or because he got stopped in them to ? The currently active Tommy Tolan is also a possibility, but he's already fighting an opponent.
The only other possibilities I can think of our Kevin McBride 9who beat Mike Tyson) or Eamon O'Kane (but it's far too soon for him).

No chance, Price has far too much class for Fury.mrpedigree wrote:Because in the armatures he hit the deck more times than an epileptics front door keys ?? or because he got stopped in them to ? Fury will muller Price ...Frank Maloney wont let him nowhere near tyson yetJ-C wrote:

Not to mention Tolan being a natural LMW althought fighting at MWTommy Gunn13 wrote:Crease wrote:As the fight is in Belfast, they will probably bring in a Northern Ireland Heavyweight for the "home interest" angle.

Re: Fury's next opponent?
Price's chin has him him down a few times at top level in the amateurs, and I feel that will stop him getting past top European level.
However I don't feel Fury has the punch or the class to get past Price.
