Was it the boxrec comp winner who got Jefferies a Southpaw??

Was amazed at the ruck between Frank and jaffa at the post fight interview! Jaffa took great exception to being given an southpaw at a weeks notice! Was it Machoman who made the call?? :-)

with his amature background he should of been able to deal with him no problem. maloney looked pissed of with him, and rightly so if he's paying him good money, he needs to step his game up if he wants to win belts looks miles off at the moment.

Yeh that was a very interesting little spat indeed then Jeffries went off in a little huff. To be honest you can see both sides really, I mean who wants a last minute replacement southpaw who's come to survive.

But on the other hand Jeffries didn't look much better than usual, he seems very stiff, there's no looseness or fluidity in his boxing just seems to come in straight lines and ends up square on sometimes. The huffs and excuses are unprofessional, even if slightly valid in this case.

I agree with what the Sky guys said, may as well just step him up, sink or swim with this guy see how he does, there's no point waiting round much longer. If he is gona improve with better opponents then get him in there and if he doesn't then we will at least have an answer. I suspect he will do well to even get a British title tbh.

Jeffries has looked poor from the moment he turned pro in my opinion.
Think he will be another paul smith, world class amateur but will only be domestic level operator as a pro.

Jeffries looked poor last night he has a habit of falling inside & clutching. With a bad habit like that cutting is inevitable.
I was thinking last night what would Groves & DeGale would to do to him on that performance.

Yet another disappointing performance by Jaffa,he needs to start listening to the trainer in between rounds&follow orders..
The commentators kept going on about his power? ive never classed jeffries as a puncher Am or pro!!
Get him in with Kenny Anderson or Travis Dickinson next and lets see what he can do,id fancy either against him unless he improves drastically...

Was it really a weeks notice? He was saying on his twitter page that full props to morby taking the fight. Offers were made to several top ten British fighters who turned him down so morby it was and he was looking forward to getting some rounds in against a southpaw.

Wonder if frank will throw him in against Tony Hill?

Jeffries needs to give it up imo, he just doesn't have it.

The fact that his skin tissue has not held up in these prelim fights is worrying

I think you're all being a bit hard on Tony, he won every minute of every round and never looked in any trouble. The only issue is the cut and that has nothing to do with his skills or training.

What more do you expect against a tricky southpaw who has gone the distance in all but one of his fights?

Jaffa has only boxed 4 minutes in 14 months.

He looked rusty, yes, but he needs rounds.

What?! This is a forum I'm entitled to my opinion.I don't think he will go past british level. I don't have to explain myself to you. What the eff have you ever done?

You're a troll.

No need to be disrespectful to an Olympic boxer and a genuine nice guy.

You can have opinions about the merits of a fighter, thats fine.

But do it in a constructive way, calling some a 'bum' is out of order

The usual half a story Maloney baloney.

A few questions :
- who was made an offer
- when were they made the offer
- what was the offer (purse and any "options")

He needs a "sink or swim" fight.

It was a shutout against a southpaw who closed up and did a fair bit of grabbing. Not exactly a disaster.

On the other hand I was really disappointed to see that all his time with Brooks hasn't moulded him out of a one dimensional power puncher. He deserved to get cut boxing like that, it was inevitable. And the power wasn't enough when it connected.

Didn't change stance, try the body, invite him on the back foot. Hopefully Jaffa will learn a lot from it. 1st lesson is stop making silly excuses, this coupled with Banbula fitness scandal makes him look daft!

He never looks dead fit to me, he was blowing in last night's fight after a few rounds and looked dreadful against Banbula in a similarly short fight. Maybe not got natural stamina?

That last sentence is bang on the money. He gives the impression of feeling a bit sorry for himself, yet dealing with adversity & difficult circumstances is a big part of the making of a champion.
