Re: Mostyn Niemann Interview
Probably because I wouldn't let him. A bit of a non-starter really. He's had 12 or so rounds as a professional. I reckon it's a bit early to be throwing him in with a top quality opponent with excellent amatuer pedigree like Pitt.
Re: Mostyn Niemann Interview

Re: Mostyn Niemann Interview
Where did I say he would? I didn't write the interview nor am I Mostyn Niemann. Would Mostyn fight Pitt? Absolutely. Would I let him? No not yet. Hope that clears it up. Perhaps Pitt can fight Cronje, Forsyth, McCracken or Vaitele Soi - all of whom are more experienced than the 5 fight Niemann.

I agree Ipswich saw Mostyn in Perth with the Green debacle he is definitely not ready for Pitt.
But won't be long. His height worries me.

I was surprised how Pitt destroyed Amman after watching Ammans great performance against Cameron.

Did'nt Mostyn have a very good ameteur carrer himself . Still its what i would expect out of a fighter , that he would be willing to back himself against anyone , after all i doubt if he would say i'll fight this that and him , but not him and him really if you don't think you can handle guys in your division its time to hang them up .
But , sometimes and it looks like it in this case , the manager / trainer has too keep the reins on and hold the young bull back , , unfortunatly here in Aust we don't have the luxury they have overseas off lots to choose from so Mostyn is gonna have to step up to the plate a lot earlier than ANY trainer / manager , would want him too , Sad but true . because 12 rnds of boxing is not the best preperation to be strarting to make a name for yourself.

Time will tell. He's certainly not there at the moment. We're in no rush with Mostyn, he's only 22.colin russell wrote:Come on Ipswich Niemann is not and in my thinking will never be in Pitts class, doesnt mean l dont love watching hin fight.
Re: Mostyn Niemann Interview
I think you will find ipswich that Pitts camp has offered to fight them, but got the same response as the neiwman camp no.the only maybe was cronje and he wanted more time. But the only to cruiserweights I've heard say will fight anyone is neiwman and pitt. Pitt seems up for it but not neiwman. And when Pitt fought ammann for the aussie title it was only Pitt 7th pro fight and had only boxed25 odd rounds himself and was fighting someone with over 220 rounds. So he is chasing fighters with plenty of experience.

Re: Mostyn Niemann Interview
Yeah and I thought the Ammann win was a spectacular one. Brad had a fantastic amateur career. Commonwealth Games gold medalist, Olympian and World Championships. He's far too experienced for Mostyn at this point, something I think I said in the first post. Like I said, we're in no rush with Niemann, time is on our side.ratter wrote:I think you will find ipswich that Pitts camp has offered to fight them, but got the same response as the neiwman camp no.the only maybe was cronje and he wanted more time. Re: Mostyn Niemann Interview
I Hear they offering up $5000 for a 6 rounder with Pitt atm. Not from the horse's mouth, but a couple of fighters have been offered that cash.

$5000 God The Ipswich Express will fight him for that sort of $.
Re: Mostyn Niemann Interview
I believe they paid Pitt's last opponent http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_ ... &cat=boxer nearly double that, probably more than double that when airfare, accommodation and costs are taken into account. It was scheduled for ten rounds though.

Love this new icon thing.
