According to a highly reliable and knowledgeable source, the Damon Hague-Roddy Doran WBF middleweight title fight scheduled for March in Nottingham, is far from a done deal.
The source revealed that Hennessy promotions have offered Doran "crap money" - a man who beat Hague in their first fight against all the odds.
Mick Currency must be struggling after his £60,000 bid to secure the Tony Dodson-Carl Froch British super-middleweight title fight. The next bid was 23k from Matchroom, so the man really did oversell himself. As much as it benefits the two fighters, it's hardly good business sense.
It also makes me wonder if Jorge Sendra pulled out of his European title challenge to Howard Eastman because he was asked to take a pay cut.

Remember, Hennessy is heavily relient on BBC funding. The BBC have poured a (IMO) disproportionate amount into regaining Football and are also paying for the UK TV rights for the 2004 Olympics.

Sadly, Boxing, including Mick Hennessy, may drop more than a few places in the pecking order, resulting in less money.

Maybe Hennessy wants to make what he can and get out.

Any good businessman in his position would have an exit strategy.
