British/European University College Sport Boxing

Anyone know anything about these - whether they're worth trying to get into/quality of opposition etc.

Thanks in advance.

Quality of opposition varies. could be against an england rep or a complete novice. More often than not, the standard is poor due to the boxers living a student lifestyle.

BUCS championships have different classes, novices 2-10, 10-20 and open class I believe although I may be wrong.

Its got a good mix of complete novices right up to national champions, but the catergories (as with all ABAE comps) ensure decent matching and saftey.

They are generally well run and are open to boxers currently studying at University - the boxer can either be carded with his home club or his university club.
