A good chin?

Is it possible to tell by looking at a boxer's chin if they are more likely than others to get knocked over or is it a case of wait and see?

For example, Hamed was once on TFI Friday with Chris Evans putting his (Hamed's) big chin out and saying how good it was. However, he was knocked down several times in the Kelley fight.

Basically, were does the line go between being hit hard and having a weak chin?

Hamed had a very good chin, go 12 rounds with Barrera you need one. His balance was terrible, plus leaping in with your arms down doesn't help either. And he always got up with his senses about him.
A bad chin is someone like Hide for example, who short circuits when hit and goes stiff as a board,.

Life has a way of evening things out. Good bangers (Joe Louis, Hearns, Benn, Magri, Naz) are often cursed with bad chins.
Those who can't really punch (Willie Pep, Ali, Tommy Loughran, Emile Griffith, and, to a lesser extent, Salvador Sanchez) are often blessed with great chins.
The few lucky ones (Marciano, Duran, Pryor, Danny Lopez, Azumah Nelson, Hagler, Tyson, etc), those who can punch and take a punch, are very lucky indeed.
You only have to look at that list to see they are also great fighters. You have to be great to break the mould.
