On a separate note, does anyone know if Gary Corcoran is brother of Eddie and Billy? Also, I heard Eddie was back training at the TKO... anyone know if thats the case and whether he's going to have another crack at it? Cheers

Yeah, I think he is. We (Boxing Ireland) played them in the Indee Rose Trust footie tournie in Canvey Island this summer and there was about 10 Corcorans on the team.

Them v the Scousers/Smiggilets was a lively affair.

Liam Smiggilet v some massive mixed race lad from the TKO Gym was a fairly saucey clash in the centre of the park. Think his name was "Oggie" or something like that. Good day out that

yeah gary is the younger brother of billy and eddie, theres 9 brothers in all and they have all boxed at a good level, billy is the oldest, and theres still 2 more to come after gary!

yeah eddie is back now and returns tommorrow at york hall, and hes now taking his training seriously. i really think if he contiues to stay focused he can play a part on the welterweight domestic scene.

Frankie, I realise this will mean fornicate all mate coming from a nobody but check my posts and you will see I have always been very supportive and believed in your ability
to go right to the top.

Now comes the time when you have to decide mate whether this is the game for you or not, I have no problems with what went on in Manchester, incredible situation to have to deal with and
I cannot think of many who could/would have carried on with the fight in those circumstances, some would I guess but again no real complaints from me.

However, the rest of the year was a waste mate, your not a welterweight I don't care what you say or what your weight tells you, yes it will be hard but it can be done you can make light-welter where your sharpness will be there, where your punches hurt if not freeze opponents, you will learn to be strong at that weight, Hatton is the perfect example, never a light-welter in a million years but he made it time and time again with the right backing and was strong and tough at the weight.

I still believe if you forget the pleasures of life and the distractions and knuckle down and get on with the job you have a chance to reach the top, the path is much harder now because you almost have to begin again to show commitment, intention, passion, all those things have been, or certainly seemed to have been, lacking since the first three or four fights of your career.

You are a long time out of this game, don't let yourself sit at home in 10 years saying he's crap I could have murdered him, he ain't much good and he's just won belts at two weights, he were'nt in my league etc.

The natural ability you have is tremendous, don't waste it mate, i fear this literally may be the last throw, if this goes wrong, you need to call it a day.

All the above is meant in a good spirit and I hope you do not find it offensive but I hate to see talent wasted and you are wasting yours mate

Compare Gavin to someone like Amir Khan. Gavin may well be the superior talent. Yet it's becoming increasingly clear that he will not achieve anywhere near what Khan will in the sport. Khan is an idiot in many respects, but he's a massively dedicated professional and is doing things the right way and making a LOT of money. You don't see Khan pulling out of a show 48 hours before. You don't hear Khan coming out with the 'my head's not in the right place' business. You can't even call Gavin 'mercurial' because he's done very little in the ring as a pro. Allegedly needs to start getting tough and force Frankie into making choices.
