Bruce Scott reappears

Post by bennie »

Also on the Matt Skelton-Julius Francis bill on February 7, Hackney banger Bruce Scott returns to the ring for the first time since being knocked out in four rounds by Enzo Maccarinelli last summer for the vacant WBU cruiserweight title.
He takes on Radcliffe Green, a former Southern Area title challenger.
Scott showed he was still a force against Maccarinelli, whom he nearly knocked out in the first round. He'd make a good opponent for David Haye this year, but politics will probably prevent it from happening.

Radcliffe should be sleeping early in this battle of Jamaica

I still think Scott will make an excellent opponent for Hobson. I would like to see that match up.

Scott is gonna be dangerous til the day he retires. A sturdy boxer with a very heavy dig.

One to be avoided, especially when he brings little to the table in terms of career advancement.

I would be surprised if Haye's management would let there golden boy anywhere near him, despite the Maccarinelli result.

Yes, don't write that guy off - he's got a big punch and just because he got KO'd by Maccrenelli there is no big shame in that, I'm sure many fighters in the future will suffer the same fate.

This is my belief, but I can't help thinking if I'm being too nice to Scott, ala the Holyfield and Francis thread.

I agree with Mr. McGovern, Bruce Scott is the sort of guy who'll upset the apple-cart big style when he's about ready for his 'zimmer' frame. He's got world class power and as long as people dangle their left hands around their knackers he's always got a 'punchers chance' of sparking them.

You know, it rankles with me that Mickey Vann took an age to administer the standing eight-count after Bruce floored Enzo Maccarinelli heavily in the first round of their fight last year and the Welshman jumped up way too quickly.
Watch the tape again, it's scandalous.
This is the same referee who jumped in to warn Eamonn Magee for pushing when Ricky Hatton was hurt and under fire. Both Hatton and Maccarinelli are SN fighters.

Bruce Scott will always have his equaliser but his best days are past him...Still capable of rocking the domestic scene here.

You are right Bennie, it was scandalous.

Macaroni owes Scott a return.
