Yes, the system is rather odd on this selection. It's best of 3 though, right? Selby must've felt hard done bychiggsy wrote:Made up,he's clearly much more deserving of the olympic place.

It's not that odd. In the days before Olympic qualification, it was the ABA champions that would get sent because they had proved they were the best in Britain.
Would it be less odd if Selby had gone without proving he was the best in this country?
Before today he was 0-2 v Yafai, 0-1 v Stubbs (who beat him at last year's GB Championships) and 0-1 v Haroon Khan.
Bottom line is, if the Euros and worlds had just been a GB entry, rather than home nations, Selby would never have been picked.

Fair points. Was he really 0-2 against Yafai???? I thought it was the other way round? Maybe it is the best system..............gobbles wrote:reggaereggae wrote:Yes, the system is rather odd on this selection. It's best of 3 though, right? Selby won quite easily in what was the best bout of the day. He did drop Kal but from a count wasn't given. Not that it matters as judges could have given a point for the shot.
