Ryan Rhodes v K9
Anyone see the mirror Rhodes sees K9 as the route to the world title he deserves.
IMO Rhodes stops him everyday of the week.
Come on posters lets get a swell going so Rhodes gets the world title his dedication deserves
Good luck next week

Re: Ryan Rhodes v K9
100% agree rhodes would stop him in 7 imo
Re: Ryan Rhodes v K9
It's a fight Rhodes could win but I'm not sure how he would be in line for a title shot and I'm equally confused as to why he deserves a world title? Wouldn't be 100% confident on Rhodes either, Bundrage definitely has the power to stop him
Re: Ryan Rhodes v K9
K9 in 8, Rhodes turns old man overnight and is stopped on his feet exausted.
Would be nice for Ryan to win the big one though.

Rhodes looked a long way off world class last time he was fighting.
Can anyone explain why he deserves a world title? His win over Moore was ages ago and he was rewarded by a shot against one of the most inexperienced champs in boxing. He was soundly thrashed and to be honest put in a shite, saftey first performance.
He does seem to be a good guy though.
K9 in 10th.
Re: Ryan Rhodes v K9
he's had 1 win in 18 months against a 40 yr old Brazilian....next fight against a 37 yr old belarussian....hardly world title eliminators

Although both are getting on a bit, you've got to favour K9 as he is the man showing the improvement in his performances, and he has the self belief of a champion now.

Re: Ryan Rhodes v K9
Rhodes doesn't deserve a title shot and I think he would lose to K9, who has definitelly improved over the past few years and still fights like a young man.

Wtf are you on about drugs? Is Alvarez your idea of an established world champ LOL!
Re: Ryan Rhodes v K9
Think it's within him to beat Bundrage, but if I had to bet on an outcome it would be Rhodes getting sparked.
Bundgrage might be the older man but he's still hungry, something the Alvarez bout threw into doubt as far as Rhodes is concerned.
I'd like to see him prove me wrong, sticking with a sport that chewed him up and spat him out over a decade ago, but the faith's gone for me.

Ask that question in 10 yrs time you clown when you see a champ like alverez take note muppetDaveBoyMorrison wrote:wesley05 wrote:Ryan can defo win this fight he has to KO this kid next week then good win against a good rankin fighter then he has the power, skill, experience, to beat most world champs. I
Get a grip you twerp, in ten years time maybe he will be established but just now he is a pup. I only said he was one of the most inexperienced world champs out there which is indisputable. I didn't say he was shite or anything like that. There's no need to get personal over facts.
I take Ryan is your mate or you harbour man love for him? Either way he ran all night and will never be a proper world champ, no matter how hard you cry. He was lucky to get Moore at the very end of a hard career, when he was really struggling to make weight IMO.

This kid has had more fights than most multi world champs Sherlock 38(28) and a draw early in his boxing days (2006) but ya saying he's not yet established ![[icon_shame.gif] :shame:](./images/smilies/icon_shame.gif)

He was just offering his opinion.
That's what a forum is about isn't it?
I suppose if he'd said "Yeah, Ryan would smash K9 cos he's really really great and I have his picture on my wall like you do", you'd have seen him as more of a boxing expert?

Re: Ryan Rhodes v K9
Ryan's route currently is to regain the European title he never lost in the ring.
If the purse bids / negotiations go ok, then Prince Arron will get his chance for the vacant title.
Ryan remains the mandatory, so he should be the next in line although the EBU are notorious for allowing new Champs to slip a vacant defence in.
Taking all that into consideration and the time scales involved I don't think there's anything wrong with putting his name in the frame against K9.
K9 is struggling to find an opponent so the article is Ryan's way of making it clear he's available.
K9 is however very demanding financially but never say never.
We can argue all day long about a fighter's merits of getting a chance.
If it was a case of the most deserving getting, then in an ideal world we'd have one World title and the Champ would always fight the next in line.
Just go through the lists - it just doesn't happen that way.
Should Matthew Hatton get another chance ?
Should Matthew Macklin get another chance ?
Etc etc etc etc.
Of course they should - and we should all get behind them.
Just my take.

I was behind Ryan Rhodes going into the Alvarez fight but he fought with such a lack of desire that I don't fancy his chances even against K9.

Well all I can say in response is that I was "close to the fire" and to question Rhodes desire is a million miles off the mark.
Sometimes in this sport we all love you have to be prepared to stick your hands up and state that you were outgunned, outfought - whatever metaphore you choose.
Hatton and Rhodes both fought a young man of immense talent - and a fighter in years to come that we can look back at, and realise he was destined for great things.
Rhodes had to make people eat their words before, coming back from nowhere to win the British and European titles.
I hope he does it again.

Cheers Daveboy.
If the chance comes along to take on K9 don't rule Ryan out.
In the meantime - eyes on the prize - getting the Euro back.
