Police came around in early hours all cos of Jim Watt

Was Froch-Bute entrance & others ruined by Jim Watt whining over them

a)Watt ruins big production fight entrances by whining/shouting non stop over them? I want Robinson to have a word with Sky.

b) Watt is fine i like him talking non stop over the ring entrance it informs me no need for action.

Police came around in early hours all cos of Jim Watt

Post by Bricks »

what the hell is wrong with jim watt lately.

Ive said before i like his style of commentating when he isnt whinging and moaning like he used to in the early 90's.....i felt he had left that behind him....and he has.....

Few can call the pace and shift of a fight like watt, and he brings a knowledgable proffesional approach at most times..

Lately tho apart from his terrible talking over big production ring entrances (like at haye-klitchko), he has condescended into a new horrific practice.....from start to finish of the fight.....he shouts in a doom filled voice like someone has put a red hot poker up his arse during a fight....likes hes dying....I noticed it in all the big fights lately Khan-peterson and froch-ward......I have a 50 inch plasma and live in a small semi detached......i had the volume up quite high..jim was doing his thing shouting over the action instead of calling it....when...the bloody police knocked on my door in the early hours....they said a passerby had heard what seemed like a scottish guy shouting like it was the end of the world and the passerby had assumed some unspeakable calamity was taking place inside the house.....the guy was so shocked he called the police ....he thought it was some ritual killing or gang rape taking place.. and he told the police some scottish guy seemed to be the main ringleader calling all the shots and it sounded like 3-4 other blokes were egging him on..(that wouldbe me and my brother and cousins)....the coppers came mob handed with riot shields and helmets they broke down the front door.....and barged into my living room.........you should have seen the blokes face...."oh its only jim watt commentating...move along...nothing to see here..."

Jim really needs to calm down hes gonna have a stroke....if he carries on like this.

EDIT UPDATE FOR FROCH-BUTE POSTED 27TH OF MAY 2012:
ANOTHER BIG FIGHT ENTRANCE, BIG FIGHT ATMOSPHERE RUINED BY JIM WATT. POLL ADDED SO PERHAPS ED ROBINSON CAN TAKE NOTE AND DO SOMETHING IF ENOUGH PEOPLE VOTE SO.

FROCHS ENTRANCE TO "NO EASY WAY OUT" WAS ELECTRIFYING AS WAS THE CROWD HEAT/REACTION AND OVERALL ATMOSPHERE.......SO WHAT DOES THE VIEWER AT HOME GET INSTEAD OF BEING ABLE TO ENJOY ALL THAT?.........WHAT WE GET IS JIM WATT ONCE AGAIN SEEING IT AS HIS JOB TO SHOUT/WHINE/MOAN/RESTATE THE BLEEDING OBVIOUS OVER THE ENTIRE FIGHT ENTRANCE FROM START TO FINISH LIKE A WHINING DRONING MACHINE....IM SURE THERE MUST HAVE BEEN A FEW PEOPLE WHO COMMITTED SUICIDE LAST NIGHT HEARING WATT WHINE OVER THE ENTIRE FIGHT RING WALK

Share the sentiment. He should call it a day. Can't remember enjoying his commentary in last few years. Worlds most negative!

watt was doing my box in from round 1. it was a pretty even round with ward maybe shading it on jabs, watt was going on like froch was getting a good hiding, for the first time ever I had to press the mute button, from rnd 6 onwards the fight was much more enjoyable. i have nothing against watty but he is a moaning fcker

Agree totally, first time I have ever muted a commentator, I only did it for one round to give myself a breather from Jim's moaning but it helped me get through the fight. What a moaning old tosser, time to move him out and get some younger people in who are less jaded and moany.

Watt was thumping the table and shouting from the opening round.

He needs learn the difference between moaning and commentating.

When Darke did get a word in, he was almost forcing himself to counter-watt with positive remarks about Carl.

i was talking metaphorically not literally jim did give watt some rounds. its just even those seemed to be token ones he started praising froch towards the end.

watts still the best on the box. wish you people would stop with this shite. maybe if we had a boxer of wards quality he would sound a bit more "optimistic" for you complaining gits. froch was crap. he was slow and stiff and showed zero boxing guile. cos hes had succsess with lower level opponents he thinks his toughness will get him through. he got lucky against taylor, and dirrel, but ive never seen any change in froch for years. Im a fan of froch, his machismo, determination, etc...but really , if khan had fought the same way in his fights hed be getting slagged off.
watt usually calls fights correctly and doesnt do all the cheerleading shite like mcguigan and co( perfect example ...all the parttime boxing fans who listened to cheerleaders of khan thinking he was the next sugar ray leonard)

i dont think the big fights would be the same without the Jim watt shouting

Mcguigan cutting in on everyone during the shows is what annoys me
surely someone has says something to him off air ,

You sound a right misery. No wonder you rate him as the best.

Calling a spade a spade is fine. Calling a spade "a distaterous spade, what is that spade thinking? It's in that spade's DNA !" as said spade is doing his ring walk is quite another.

I used to stick up for Watt, but recently in the big fights he has really annoyed me, I think his time could be over. Would like to see more of the young ex-boxers in there like Spencer Oliver, Jamie Moore etc.

I know what this is all about now - you're all feeling let down because Scotland's going for independence -c'mon , admit it and you're all scared the price of whisky goes up , the price of golf will go up , the oil will be syphoned off , the patent for penicillin will be renewed ( Alexander Fleming ), Scotland's property rights on all TV's ( John Logie Baird ) will be challenged through the courts and all tarmac ( McAdam) will have to be uplifted or tax paid to Scotland .

You're all sooooooooooo transparent !!!
