Re: The single most impressive punch in boxing you ever saw
Pretty impossible to quantify.
Shavers-Holmes II, Ali-Frazier I, Liston-Westphal, Pacquiao-Hatton, Jackson-Graham, Robinson-Fullmer II, Martinez-Williams II...I could go on all day, really.

You could also throw into the mix.
Mike Tyson v Michael Spinks.
Muhammed Ali v George Foreman
Lennox Lewis v Hashim Rahman 2
Roy Jones Jnr v Virgil Hill
Yuriorkis Gamboa v Al Seeger
Henry Cooper v Joe Erskine (simply for the effect of seeing Erskine left hanging over the bottom rope)

Re: The single most impressive punch in boxing you ever saw
I know singling out one is pretty impossible, so I will name these off the top of my head...
The Hearns right hand bomb against Duran
Marciano's right against Walcott.
Patterson's left against Ingo in their second fight.
Foreman's right uppercut against Frazier for the second knockdown in their first fight. That ended the fight in my mind.
Foster's left on Dick Tiger and also Mike Quarry.
p.s. Maybe I'm not seeing it right, but I've always thought Tyson's right hand on Spinks didn't really land on the button.
I also don't see any way Ali's last punch against Foreman is in the spectacular top class, either. Foreman fell nearly as much from exhaustion and actually beat the count, though it didn't really matter.

Wilfredo Benitez's Ko over Maurice Hope.
Ron Lyle's Ko over Jack O'Halloran.
Bob Satterfield must've had a few good ones.
ButterBean actually had some Really Good Ones.

Julian Jackson V Herol Graham
Or
Benn v Logan.
Both punches thrown by guys who were off balance at the time but which were still able to wipe out their opponents.

Jorge Vaca vs Mark Breland (holy God, and what a frenzied follow-up! Shades of the final volley in Pryor-Arguello, there!).

Never seen Valdez's KO of Briscoe but that must be pretty impressive.
Maybe Koing Bennie is the best feat of all, save perhaps Robinson-Fullmer

Tyson Fury uppercutting himself was quite impressive.
Re: The single most impressive punch in boxing you ever saw
Azumah Nelson's uppercut (I think) on Pat Cowdell

It's up there. He rocked him badly in the first round, too. One looping right hook in the 7th round had him knocked stiff on his feet before the follow up put him down for the count. Valdez had frightening power, but he gets a bit overrated as a fighter in that he didn't match up very well with certain styles. I think he'd hold his own with any puncher or pressure fighter at the weight, though.Ezzard wrote:Never seen Valdez's KO of Briscoe but that must be pretty impressive.

Live (in person): Memphis Al Jones KO 3 Boone Kirkman. For a couple of minutes there, I thought Al might have killed him.
On TV: Bob Foster KO 4 Mike Quarry.

A bit controversial, but Eubank putting Watson down with that right uppercut after getting battered and coming off the floor to do it unbelievable! terrible aftermath though!

The best punch I ever saw that DIDN'T land was Foreman's uppercut against Ali in round one.
It was an almighty punch & I swear if it had connected that Ali's head would still be orbiting the Earth today!!! :P

Oh yeah, man I remember that. Great response time from Ali. Look at how much Foreman put into that shot, and you have to wonder, dont you.Syntax Error wrote:The best punch I ever saw that DIDN'T land was Foreman's uppercut against Ali in round one.

It was a series, but Duran's combo that floored Barkley was awe inspiring.
Leonard's hook that finished Green.
Ruddock/Dokes was another combo of shots.
Ya'll already listed most of my answers.
