Frank Bruno-Bruno by close very entertaining decision.
Joe Bugner-Cobb by mid round TKO.
Henry Cooper-Cobb late stoppage.
Tommy Morrison-Depends which Morrison shows up. Morrison like he fought Foreman could beat Cobb. Morrison who fought Mercer would get gassed and lose.
Mike Weaver-Weaver wins this one wide. Bad match up for Cobb I think.
James Bonecrusher Smith-Tough call. I tend to lean Cobb by decision.
David Tua-10 year ago I would have said Tua kills him, but now that we have an entire career of Tua I think Cobb wins a decision.
Andrew Golota-This fight would have been hilarious. If Golota doesn't go insane...big IF...then I think he wins a fairly wide decision.
Chuck Wepner-Easily your bloodiest fight winner. Someone gets stopped on cuts. Flip a coin.
Chauncy Welliver-Haven't seen enough to make a guess.

Joe Bugner-Cobb by mid round TKO. Could see old Joe slicking his way to a UD.

Henry Cooper-Cobb late stoppage. Exciting blood bath! I favor Cooper.

Tommy Morrison-Depends which Morrison shows up. Morrison like he fought Foreman could beat Cobb. Morrison who fought Mercer would get gassed and lose. Even if Morrison could fight Cobb like he did Foreman, I don't think he would. Mercer vs. Cobb is an interesting one:

Mercer-Cobb

Mike Weaver-Weaver wins this one wide. Bad match up for Cobb I think. Weaver has too much power? Tenacity?

James Bonecrusher Smith-Tough call. I tend to lean Cobb by decision. As much as I like Bonecrusher, he might get stopped late in this one.

David Tua-10 year ago I would have said Tua kills him, but now that we have an entire career of Tua I think Cobb wins a decision. My thoughts exactly.

Andrew Golota-This fight would have been hilarious. If Golota doesn't go insane...big IF...then I think he wins a fairly wide decision. I think he would go insane. Make it 15 rounds for old times sake!

Chuck Wepner-Easily your bloodiest fight winner. Someone gets stopped on cuts. Flip a coin. This too gets my vote for bloodiest, with Henry Cooper a close second.

Chauncy Welliver-Haven't seen enough to make a guess. Welliver looses the battle of chins in this one.

I seemingly hold Cobb in less esteem than some others. I have him beating Morrison, Wepner, and Welliver. Losing the rest. He could possibly win a grapple-fest vs Smith. That's it.
The idea that he stops Joe Bugner and Smith though? Cobb did not have a big punch.

Gotta say, I think at least the first respondent gives Cobb an awful lot of credit.

I simply cannot believe that there is someone in the world who thinks Randall Tex Cobb, of all people, would stop Joe Bugner. And 'mid rounds' as well.

My mind has just bled.

Cobb vs Wepner bloodiest fight for sure!!!

I think he beats Bruno, Chauncey Welliver and possibly Henry Cooper and Wepner. But he loses to everyone else

Did your mind bleed when Bugner lost to Dick Hall, Jack Bodell, or Larry Middleton? This is Joe Bugner we are talking about not Joe Frazier. These are hypothetical fights. I bet you had Foreman KOing Moorer, Douglas KOing Tyson, and Rahman KOing Lewis before the fights ever happened. Or would your mind have bled if someone had predicted those happening as well? Sh!t happens in fights. If you predict the obvious outcome in every fight in boxing you will be right the same number of times as the guy who picks the least obvious outcome. That is why we watch.

It is a hypothetical match up game. Lighten up. Should I pick UD or SD for every single fight just so your mind doesn't bleed?

"Would stop Joe Bugner" Again this is Bugner not Frazier buddy.

Merc, you said it all for me. "This is Joe Bugner" - yeah, Bugner with his steel chin versus Tex Cobb who, while strong, certainly couldn't clobber you like Ron Lyle, Mac Foster, Joe Frazier or Henry Cooper, not to mention Ali, Ellis, Tillis, Bey and Page who all put down some very durable men as well.

Saying 'Cobb TKO Bugner, mid rounds' translates as 'I don't really know what I'm talking about'.

I would pick Bugner to outpoint Cobb but it wouldn't surprise me at all if Cobb outworked Bugner for a ud, Aussie Joe lost to lesser guys even in his prime. I think Cobb would stop Bruno and Morrison late, tko Wepner (cuts) and outpoint club fighter Welliver. He looses to the rest, all on points. Wepner and Welliver doesn't belong, they were/are not world class fighters.

I know Joe Frazier was not mentioned here, but I think Cobb would be the perfect candidate for a death match with Joe.

Joe kills him, unless the Ref intervenes because Tex won't quit and neither would Joe.

It's a case of the kitchen sponge versus Niagra Falls.

OH....and Whoever thinks Tex has a shot against Joe Bugner is just plain goofy.

I would have loved to have seen Snipes vs Cobb. That would have been a real grudge match.

I like this post. 8) I basically agree with practically all of it. I think Tua would be the kryptonite of Cobb though. 9th rd brutal ko for Tua. :box:
