Groves-The relationship there was always a weird one...nice that he KTFO'd Smith whilst he was there though.

Seconded. I figured that withdrawal before xmas was because George & Adam didn't feel the purse would reach the bank anytime soon (pure speculation on my part)

Maybe he won't be the next, but once Cleverley has twatted the upcoming challenger, and is then matched with someone like tony oakey, I can see the rattle coming out of the pram....

I wudnt blame Groves for leaving allegedly, I cant see Booth being happy with them trying to put him in with Robin Reid.

Booth was actively involved in persuading Groves to sign there, when a deal was almost done and dusted with Hearn.
If Groves goes Booth should resign as well.

Think it fell through due to golden it having overseas promotional rights!twenty six wrote:Booth was actively involved in persuading Groves to sign there, when a deal was almost done and dusted with Hearn.

It'll interesting to hear bellews comments.
I remember tony slamming amir khan and calling him disloyal amongst other things for leaving warren and joining goldenboy.
I wonder how loyal tony will be to warren during these turbulant times.

To turn this thread - or the thinking behind it - on its head, how about approaching this from another angle - like wondering who IS getting paid ?!?! Surely somebody has got paid at some point over the last six months ? Any employer has his favourite members of staff, as well as the office twats who'd be first out of the door when job cuts were on the agenda. I assume there's been some sort of money in the kitty to cover at least some purses.... maybe Bunce has got paid, to keep the monday live shows going nicely, presumably overseas visitors like Katsidis left the country with the money tucked away....
If DeGale hasn't been paid, then it would be pretty funny if Groves went around saying how quick he got paid after flattening Smith

I think Mitchell will be getting very frustrated by everything. Beating Murray, then being scheduled vs TBA next month whilst Murray got the title shot, must be very annoying. I know mitchell has had one or two legal issues, but the only rumours have been Stephen Ormand! Surely his name should be at the top of the divisions mix?

I wouldn't be surprised if Booth wanted to just get another one over on Warren and they might have got a very tasty signing on fee with Warren hoping for DeGale v Groves II.twenty six wrote:Booth was actively involved in persuading Groves to sign there, when a deal was almost done and dusted with Hearn.

Does Warren really have many SMW's to put Groves in with? He's flattened Smith, the Groves rematch has just gone from Warren's control, Rocky Fielding really isn't ready...Booth and Warren don't like each other. It wouldn't surprise me that they only went there for the the chance to get another one over on Frank whilst waiting for something better to come along...Cardiff-Lad1 wrote:With Degale out of the picture, surely that would strenthen the reason for Groves to stay?!?! He wont have to worry about people banging on about the rematch and FW can invest more time on his now definate number 1 SMW....

Barrymore was a killer in the ring. He doesn't need a promoter to get actionKhaosai-Galaxy wrote:Michael Barrymore

Might be reading too much into it but from his twitter comments Tony Bellew doesn't seem that happy recently.

Surely thats Mitchell's fault though for his silly behaviour and lack of professionalism outside the ring lately.
If anyone should be annoyed with the other in that relationship it should be FW with Kevin.
Re: Who will be the next person to leave F W Promotions???
Mitchel would appear the obvious candidate to jump ship first. But with all his problems, how many promoters would want to take a chance with him?
Tony Bellew on the other hand though...
Still full of ambition, a crowd pleaser .. and surplus to requirements where he presently is ..

Why do you say surplus to requirements mate ?
FW lost the purse bid to Coldwell for this next fight, nothing more nothing less, unless of course I'm missing something.
