FARRAG ha ha u avng a laugh he got out after gary dropped him in sparring and lyon (easy) when craigs even admitted to friends of garys on a drunken night that he nos gary would be him but it would be a good fight (craigs words not mine) and garys been sparring paul butler for 3 weeks and from what ive heard butler had his hands full so lets just wait and see but thanks for the interestTommy Gunn13 wrote:Thats the kiddyleeharding wrote:ye ure right ramabalesta something like thatTommy Gunn13 wrote: is that the dude who novice Paul Butler just beat?? if so his surname starts with a R....Hope he comes back to what he was,but hes not the best in his own city..what weight is he fighting at? On what basis do you make this assumption ? Lyon will never make it past English Title / Central Area class. Davies has mixed it with top domestic opposition in the likes of Napa and Power. For all Farrag's aggression, Davies hits cleaner and harder. Davies also has experience of the championship distance. Butler's a nice boxer, who I rate more highly than Farrag and Lyon, but still think Davies would have a bit too much for him at this time.Tommy Gunn13 wrote:Thats the kiddyleeharding wrote:ye ure right ramabalesta something like thatTommy Gunn13 wrote: is that the dude who novice Paul Butler just beat?? if so his surname starts with a R....Hope he comes back to what he was,but hes not the best in his own city..what weight is he fighting at? Davies, at times hasn't done himself any favours, but he's still the pick of the crop from this side of end of the M62.

I also think Davies would be too seasoned and hot too hard for Martin Ward. I remember Ward as a kid. He beat Sam Maxwell a couple of times and he was physically very strong and hit very hard for his age and weight. As he's matured he hasn't developed that power, and although he puts his shots together nicely and has a decent workrate, I don't see him having enough ammunition to carry him through at a higher level.

I like Gary, good little scrapper and a good lad, but I think Butler and Lyon would beat him.
Butler is a quality little operator and even though Davies has improved his boxing skills, I think Paul would stand him on his head.
I think Lyon's aggression and punch output would get to Davies. Davies hasn't got the best chin and I think Lyon could force a late stoppage. Saying that, Farrag showed that Lyon could be put down, though I think Lyon would box a bit smarter than he showed in Prizefighter.

Re: gary davies fight.
Gary davies is in my opinion the salt of the domestic scene, he gives value for money and is a banger, a bit of a Cello Renda (whats he up to now?) type character. he refuses to change his gameplan whoever he is fighting and goes in there trying to rip the opponents head off. This can, with a little luck, get you to English/British title level unless you are a nigel benn...and there have not and will never be many of them.
unfortunately for Gary, when he comes up against fighters of good schooling and good ring savvy he will be found wanting.
But i for one will always enjoy watching him fight.
