That's what I meant Gary. But the fact you were willing to step up to the mark says everything about your warrior mentality...And everyone respects that.

Just text Carl's trainer Martin Williams (as I cover Carl for the Yorkshire Evening Post) and he doesn't know anything about this fight. Assuming deal has been done directly with Maloney and Carl hasn't been told yet.

Steve happy with the bout. More to be revealed in the presser.

Chris is coming on well, and Johanneson in now 33 and is a natural super-feather.

Still, Carl is a tough man and will arguably be the favourite here. But Steve knows his charge, this he thinks is right man, right time.

That Lightweight top ten is incredible, so if you want to break it you have to start somewhere. if Steve trusts that Chris is ready then he is ready

Deal would have been made between our matchmaker Ken Morton and carls manager Frank Maloney.

Enquiries were made a number of weeks ago, terms agreed then and we gave the green light today.

Yeah, I had to laugh. As things were really quiet over the holiday period and I didn't receive ONE submission for a fortnight from our alleged writers, I did a re-write of that Sanders/McDonnell thing from the former's local paper.

I then got a call from someone saying the trainer had jumped the gun. I offered to do a clarification but they wanted to get their end together so I said fair enough, come back to me when you've got your story straight. Then a couple of days later you went and did it anyway. :TU:

There was a mention for Boxrec in it as your original story is how Stefy found out. :)

I'm not one to upset the apple cart as i know Steve and like him but to think Carl is finished is very silly ok he's 33 and been in a lot of hard bouts but this is a huge step up in class for Chris and on that basis i'm saying Carl late stoppage or points win(sorry Ste).Prove me wrong???

They know full well that he isn't finished. If Chris stands in front of him he gets smashed, end of...

No upsetting apple cart mate, huge step up but an acid test they think he is ready for :TU:

Will you be going?

I think a very close contest that sees Goodwin take it in points after a hard nights work with Carl trying to knock him out for 10 rounds.

Good boxing brain, will always beat a puncher. If he's on his game, Chris will win this 1. That's how I see it. :bag:
