For those that are interested in that sort of thing, BN's annual figures are in and stand at an average of 10,421 per issue.

It's a marginal decline at a time where other mags (particularly those targeting men) are experiencing huge drops in circulation. Furthermore, BN don't sneakily bulk their figures up through free distribution and they've also got a healthy percentage of subscribers (around the 25% mark).

Not easy to run a mag in the current climate, so I think Tris and the team deserve a 'well done' for achieving this result.

yes they are doing well but unfortunately its a thankless task, all the news they print is old news due to the internet, the only exclusives they have are interviews etc.

perhaps they should do it fortnightly instead of weekly?

I loved the old 'paper' magagazine, black and white photos, Bob Mee etc. It had an 'old school' feel to it. I'm not fussed for the glossy phots etc, there are other good boxing magazines that do that very well.

I'm pleased they're holding their own in circulation; it can't be easy and not everyone can be kept happy.

Doesn't make financial sense Rhino - halving the number of issues you do a year pretty much equals halving your revenues, as your circulation won't suddenly increase to 20,000 per issue if you go fortnightly.

I subscribed last year. Good value for money when subscribe. I think they do a great job although royal mail suck arse and it often doesn't arrive till the Friday.

The only thing I'd say in their defence is that they've got a huge volume of words to get through every week and a small team to handle it. Having been a sub in my long distant past I know how it's simply impossible to prevent things getting through the net occasionally - we're all only human after all and at times you'll go 'screen-blind'.

Great mag!
Been subscribing to BN for years and will continue to do so as long as it exists in a paper format.
No better way to start the weekend than getting home from work on Friday and finding the latest edition in my mailbox - it has become a "Friday feeling" thing to me.

My favorite part of the mag is the previews for the weekend's fights and special features (i.e. the Russel Peltz piece in the latest edition).
Anything by Bob Mee I'll read twice because it's usually so good.

What I'd like to see BN do though, is to devote more space and pages to the Old TImer section.
Half a page is not nearly enough imo.

This is the main reason I buy it every week - and as long as they cover every UK pro boxing bill i'll continue to buy the magazine

I thought that they would have a bigger circulation to be honest. I think it's a great magazine and it's a shame it hasn't got a bigger following.
It's interesting that 'Nuts' has got a circulation of nearly 115,000 and that's a complete waste of space. Just shows what tripe we're reading in this country.

It's not so surprising really, we all know the rumoured figures doing the rounds about the amount of allegedly subscribers — those are the same people likely to spend on BN and BM. All the figures tally, allegedly's rumoured subs total and the sales of the mags are about the same it seems.

But then the "old news" problem would be twice as bad for half of the reports.

Not bought it now for about a year , used to enjoy reading it from cover to cover but seemed to not hold my interest for long after a while , i think a lot of it is due to me already knowing what theyve got in it via places like here , Id personally like a bit more International news , things i wont already know about if im going to bother again now , ill get it on the odd occasion i think but thats about it .

im mostly interested in the heavyweights

a few years ago they went colour and massively increased the price along with extra advertizing

there is way too much amateur stuff

and although they disagreed with the proliferation of alphabets...they still managed to write the winning of totally bullsh*t belts in a 'historic' light

my view is that the non title fights (which is about 99%) should be called non title fights...end of !

im a subscriber, i enjoy all the interviews but what has dropped off is the previews, specially from over the pond.Coz we can watch espn fnfs, online an everything else from over there, lets bring back the previews of the shows over there.

The industry is taking a hammering.. it's about damage limitation

BM and BN are producing good quality publications in a devastating era for newspapers and magazines.

They really need people to get behind them. I buy a copy every week and feel it is good value for money.

I take my hat off to them.

I must confess, I rarely buy it these days. Bought it religiously right up to the time when Tris took over and bought it every week for a while after that. Not knocking Tris or his team, as I do still enjoy it but its a bit too 'simplified', lacking a bit of depth and far too much 'wasted' space. Plus the AM section, whilst important with the Olympics coming and good to read about up coming talent, 6 pages is far too much. It is a decent read, good writers, who like me, love the sport and it has to do what is necessary for it to survive but it's a little too bland, padded and 'rushed' for me. I can read it in about 15-20 mins and be done. I probably don't regard as an essential read, anymore.

Then again, it might be me, to be honest.
