Stephen will blow him away. Not a great fight. Obviously a filler before he gets the likes of Selby again.

Probably, but this is Warren.

Anyone know if Selby is looking at defending his title or moving on up?

Awful.

Is Warren going to be able to keep his stable of fighters if he continues to keep his fighters inactive, fighting on other promoter's shows or fighting bums?

Selby fighting TBA on 25th. Most likely a commonwealth defence.

lots of fighters take figths giving away lots of weight just to stay active. smith will defo come back to feather and the rematch all depends on fw. they r 2 assets to him and a loss to either is damaging after both hav already been beaten. i think fw just getting smith rounds under his belt b4 he decides wat to do regarding a rematch

Why should he?

The first fight wasn't even close.

Casio wrote:Why would you suggest a bum? post Smith he has fought John Simpson who he stopped and is currently in Vegas sparring Gamboa....Selby certainly wants to push on with his career no doubt.
I suggested a bum for an opponent, because Warren doesn't seem to be putting his fighters in good fights on his own shows.
Casio wrote:Selby wants that Lonsdale belt for keeps so its likely to be a Brit that he faces....Lindseys name had been mentioned but he's down to fight on 5th May againsy Mickey Coveney so i guess thats out of the equation.
Lindsay would be a good opponent. Apart from Smith and Lindsay there isn't anyone credible for Selby to defend his British title against.

It should be an easy fight to make with Warren being the promoter of both of them and there would be a good amount of interest in the rematch, but if Selby fights someone better than Smith then great.

I've just looked at the European rankings and Selby is the mandatory challenger for the European champion Miskirtchian, so hopefully that fight can be made

if he has a rematch the loser is stuck ( with both lads already being beaten) as a promotor he will wait to move selby on to european level and smith will fight for vacant title earns fw more money and more shows to promote and possible bigger fight between them down the line

None of those fighters are as credible as Smith or Lindsay. They need more experience.

That's probably what will happen, it is all a bit boring though.

smith and lindsay r more crediable but lindsey been very inactive and the first smith fight wasnt exactly close. and experience doesnt come into it how many fights did both smith and selby hav b4 a title shot. selbys record wasnt great he was a vol defense that fw thought smith would walk thru and it backfired cant knock the kid now he doing great he took his chance

Smith is surely the most credible challenger?

Also, can remember there only being a round or two in it by the time of the stoppage. Not trying to say Smith was looking like he could take the fight (the inevitable was going to happen with him taking those shots), but his high workrate got him a few rounds.
