Kessler v Green spoiler*

Post by Final round »

Anyone see it? The Dane looked alarmingly vulnerable, flat footed and sluggish early on and when Green put him down in the 1st it looked like he was going to get him out of there but he made it to the end of the round and it seemed to spark Mikkel into action. After catching and hurting Green in the second and third, he sparked him out heavily in the 4th with a left hook that had been coming for a while.

I'd say he took it quite well considering Green's power. His legs did a funny dance after Green landed a huge right, and then he was kind of bowled over in the following onslaught. To be fair ge wasn't even down for a second and was smiling upon his return to his feet.

He was catching far too many jabs though! The KO is up there with the best of 2012!!

Yeah he was smiling, in an oh shit! I'm in trouble way after bundling over but credit too him he came to life after, he took a few good jabs and a couple of right hands as he was pulling away with his head exposed, aging reflexes?

Great fight, and that'll be the knock out of the year. Stunning comeback by the Dane. Green has got some balls, that must have been an intimidating atmosphere, and yet he took it to Kessler in the 1st and almost pulled off a shocker.
Kessler was desperate to end it after that, as he realised he didn't want to be taking any more shots like that.

After watching nice guy David Price rush over to his knocked out foe last night, it was telling the way the ruthless Kessler celebrated while Green was unconcious on the deck. The same way Green did himself, a few years back after a brutal KO - he was crticised for that at the time. Great win by the Dane, but he looks like he might be on the slide....

Mikkel is obviously on the slide slightly, I bet he can still compete with almost any fighter at 168 and 175. We'll see a few more exciting displays from him yet.

Bet Green couldn't believe he got done like that after how he had Kessler in the first...

While Kessler is definitely not the fighter he was, I think last night was just a case of getting caught cold early on with a pretty good shot. He settled from the 2nd onwards and that knockout was a beauty. He can still feature in some great fights. I wouldn't say no to a Froch-Kessler rematch up at light heavy.

The knockdown galvanised Kessler into action. Green can punch but has always been outclassed when against the top fighters. Always love watching Kessler but he cant have too long left at the top level.
