The Klitschko's

Post by cockneygymrat »

The Klitschko's seem to be very popular on this and other forums.

On the surface they seem a reasonable bunch.

But, why do they always have to mention David Haye in someway when they are talking or promoting something? its as if they cannot live without him.

Bernt Bonte in his latest bitching session slags off Haye pronouncing he is scared of fighting Vitali. 2 points on that, Haye went to Munich (Klitschko/Chisora) to corner Vitali into fighting him it seemed the fight was going to happen until Bonte started playing hardball, as highlighted by Adam Booth at that very press conference.

2nd point is, if Bonte and Klitschko have no interest at all in Haye, then why keep mentioning him? To attempt to sell their film in London and a feeble attempt to gain some form of British public favour they have to resort to slagging off Haye as it seems the topical thing to do.

Finally, Vitali Klitschko fighting the winner of Haye/Chisora is going to happen, there is far too much money to resist. In that statement I include WBC and the German Boxing Board.

I read a link to the article i think your referring to a couple of hours ago on facebook and my immediate reaction was wtf is he on about , David Haye was there in Munich asking why he had gone back on a contract he had been offered to fight Vitali , yet now they are saying "Haye is scared to fight Vitali , He was offered a contract yet hes now changed his mind and is boxing Chisora " or words to that effect .

Could just be Sh4t Journalism as ive not seen any other sources of Boente saying this but if he did say it then he really is talking crap as everyone saw what went off in Germany .

These statements / comments that you mention Mr Gym Rat are often tailored to the British audience etc.... they are often there answering questions about Haye, and less frequently Chisora - because that is what the TV execs think the British audience is interested in.

Look at Adam Smith's interview to Wlad after the Mormeck fight - did Wlad start talking about Haye or was it Adam Smith making as many references to Haye (and Chisora) as possible. When Vitali fought Adameck, there was less of a focus on Haye and the Hayemaker hardly got a mention.

Even in this dire period, I think the US market is the key to the truely big Heavyweight fights. Haye stank the place out against Wlad and US TV wasn't interested in Chisora against Vitali. So not sure if the risk is worth the reward to rematch any of these two Brits... they might be the current biggest box office boxers to fight the Klitchsko's, but is it going to be that much more than any other fighter going to Germany.... Klitchsko's will fill arena's and get German TV if they fight any fighter in the top 20.

Haye/Chisora v Klitschko will happen, the banter between the respective camps has started.

I'd assume if Haye wins he'll get Vitali, if Chisora wins he'll get Wlad.
