How can Froch beat Bute??

Post by Final round »

What can Carl do on Sunday morning against confident Bute???
Bute's bigger faster, punches harder?? is fresher has a longer reach and decent footwork.
Froch's CV whups Bute's he's the chin of a caveman, the nose of a Roman Centurion and the iron will of a lunatic... but he's shown a bit of wear and tear in his last couple ,he's looked a bit jaded..,against Johnson he getting tagged by the pitched right hand over the top sent by telegram all night and he floundered at times against Ward's speed when closing the distance with jabs and fast hooks.
Will he struggle with Butes southpaw speed in the early rounds get bashed then struggle to get back into the fight..
I think Carl's got to upset Bute's rhythm early on, close the distance and not hang back and try and show Bute how good his cobra jab is.. what else does he need to do?

I'd love to see him pull off a W help him! and I'll pop the tactics in the post to Rob first thing in the morning.

a fast start in the first round similar to the pascal fight. impose his will early and make it a scrap.

saying that, its not impossible to imagine a jeff lacy scenerio here.

Ive noticed Bute does something that Enzo Macarinelli does with his left to the body which leaves him quite exposed , and he throws it quite a lot, i said before Enzo boxed Shane Mcphilbin that a counter right Hook or Overhand right would be the key and that could also be the Key here , ok Bute seems to have a better chin than Enzo so it will take more than that but he can be dropped as has been seen and those body shots are pretty hard , but then again so are enzo's .

In my opinion Froch will be well aware of this already and will be looking to counter when bute goes to the body , but i just hope Froch can take the body shots as he will no doubt need to take a few of them to use the counter , i dont recall anyone ever hurting froch to the body , but they will take their toll and froch will need to be quick on the trigger with the counter , which the more he takes to the body the more it will become difficult , in my view though if he can land one of the counter rights early on and follow it up rather than it just being a single shot then it could just make bute think a bit more about throwing to the body in the same manner , which could over the course of the fight be a deciding factor .

Many refs would have stopped that fight when he was stumbling about with his hands down.
Definitely, the ref delayed until the bell. It's alarming  how fcked he was

Yeah Froch needs to make the fight a scrappy torrid encounter, take away the slickness.

Who would be Lacy?

He can't Keith and no amount of rolling your eyes will change the outcome.
He's gonna get ko'ed by a body shot in the 10th or he will be retired on his stool with a very red big konk!

There I said it! the cobra is going down.

Im not sure making it a scrap would be the best plan , Bute is a big strong lad and although ive not seen him have to be in a scrap yet i can imagine him being able to handle himself pretty well if needed .

a good shot early followed up with a nice quick combo along with the crowds backing may just make Bute wonder what hes let himself in for and make him doubt himself , if he does begin to let doubt creep in then Froch could capitalise and then yes it could end in a jeff lacy scenario then ....Maybe

Though what a let off against Andrade.

Kessler beat Froch up to the body. Carl even said something along those lines to McCracken in the corner between rounds.

I think Carl can win, but it's going to take a Herculean effort & he's going to have to have the fire & workrate he showed vs. Pascal & simply grind the bastard down. Bute looks such a big unit that the weight-making's got to get to him eventually, no?

I'd say so. Bute is no Lacy, even if he looses to Froch i'd still expect him to go on and win some big fights afterwards, so it probably would become a career defining win.

The general consensus is that Froch has to rough him up, take him into the trenches and stop him from getting into his rythym right from the get go. I'd say that is about right! Make it a war!

As much as I like Froch for the set of balls he has, I think this could be his Lacy moment alright, but not in the way we may wish.

Pressure, pressure, pressure. Mind you Froch needs to be intelligent with it, and Carl better have his defense solid, because hes going to pay a heavy price if he gets tagged often by Bute. Cant see Carl doing it though, its going to be a fairly one sided UD for Bute, or a late stoppage via body shots imo.
