Bruce Baker: His Breakthrough Year?
For some years Baker has been regarded as little more than a deluded Baron Von Munchausen figure in the world of professional boxing, his main achievement (if one can call it that) was creating the frankly worthless British Masters ‘Title’ (and it’s even more spurious progeny the International Masters ‘Title’) Huge crowds of up to 300 people in leisure centres throughout the land have thrilled at seeing journeymen crowned ‘champion’ thanks to Baker and his ‘titles’
But events of the last few weeks may have forever changed Bakers status in the world of boxing:
1. He is the nominal figurehead of the Luxembourg caper on July 14th, if this is a one off Baker will once again disappear into the realms of his Masters kingdom but if the Luxembourg caper takes off and this marks a new era in British boxing we could see Baker finally becoming a major player.
2. He now has one of British boxings most controversial and divisive characters holding one of his ‘titles’ with Audley Harrison winning the International Masters ‘title’ against the lamentable Iraqi bodybuilder Ali Adams. Will Harrison hold his ‘title’ with pride and give it (and consequently Baker) the profile it’s never known OR will he jettison it when a more significant fight is offered to him?
So what do you think gents?
Bruce Baker = Allegedly’s stooge who will be forgotten this time next year.
Or
Bruce Baker = The new Jon Robinson.

Don't you like anyone ? or are you just a green eyed monster. Your parents ( if you have any ) should have taught you better manners and respect for other people, maybe I am being too hard on you, maybe you were bullied at school( if you went to school ) and that is where you get all the resentment, what a waste of a life, but you are not quite the loser you seem to be, because lets be honest you did beat many other sperms to arrive here in the first place, congratulations.Palimpsest wrote:For some years Baker has been regarded as little more than a deluded Baron Von Munchausen figure in the world of professional boxing, his main achievement (if one can call it that) was creating the frankly worthless British Masters ‘Title’ (and it’s even more spurious progeny the International Masters ‘Title’) Huge crowds of up to 300 people in leisure centres throughout the land have thrilled at seeing journeymen crowned ‘champion’ thanks to Baker and his ‘titles’

Re: Bruce Baker: His Breakthrough Year?
I simply hadn't heard that the bout was for the Southern Area okay?
However you have in the past blatantly LIED about the spurious WBC 'title' that Nasser won against a fearsome 10 -22 (9 of those losses inside schedule) Thai.

There are different titles for different parks of the uk, souther for south of england, northern and midland as well as welsh and scottish.
According to the bout record on boxrec it wasnt for a title so i'm not sure what title was on the line if any

Re: Bruce Baker: His Breakthrough Year?
I'm familiar with Area titles (sadly in decline these days with all the Masters, Intercontinental, International, EU affairs available) but it's the first I'd heard that anything other than Adams International Masters was involved last night, that said the clip above does seem to confirm that Audley is the new 'International Masters Champion' (for all that it's worth)Adamj1987 wrote:Palimpsest wrote:I simply hadn't heard that the bout for the Southern Area okay?

And thanks for getting my thread 'back on topic' (it's amazing how they lose their way soon as Saffy comes on board!)
