Tyson's going to Mexico!!!

Former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson has confirmed that he will train and fight in Mexico in preparation for his comeback in June
Tyson will take advantage of Lennox Lewis’ retirement to relaunch his career and has revealed that negotiations are underway to fight an unnamed opponent in Mexico City.

“I am going to prepare well to ensure that I will give a good account of myself here in Mexico,” he told daily Recorde.

In answer to critics who feel that he is boxing solely for the cash incentive, Tyson said: “I do not fight for money, I love this sport.”

The president of the World Boxing Council (WBC), Jose Sulaiman, has stated that there is a good chance that Tyson could make his return to the boxing ring in Mexico.

“He is in phase of his life where he needs to feel wanted and I told him Mexico loves him.”

Tyson, who in 1986 became the youngest heavyweight champion in boxing history, will study a list of five or more opponents but as yet no one has been named.

I assume this will all change again next week. 8)

Good tactics by Mike. Keep his good buddy Jose happy and maybe get first shot at Vitali, once he's blasted Sanders back onto the golf courses.
Plus those Mexican babes are hot!!

Not exactly a hotbed of quality heavyweights in Mex either.......

There is no doubt that Mike Tyson is in a decrepit state, but he must realise the oppoutunity that he has.

With careful match-making, something he has always been good at, he can still be a major force in todays division, with the absence of lennox, and the influx of smaller lighter, poorer fighters.

I have little doubt that mike could easily compete with the Ruiz, Rahmans of the division.

Oh, without doubt.

Whilst Tyson is past his best, i dont think he is shot in the way his legs, eqilibrium and chin have gone.

Not many HW's could have taken what Lewis hit him with for 8 rounds, and Tyson took this despite being out of shape.

A prepared Tyson, even at this stage, would KO the likes of Ruiz and Rahman, so if they have a future, Tyson certainly does.
