Re: Audley-Adams!
Its tomorrow, apparently Adams started pushing Audley at weigh in and tried to start a bit of a ruckus.

Re: Audley-Adams!
I can see Audley losing almost any fight now - he's old and gunshy, and doesn't hold a shot at all well, if adams goes in there swinging, and gets aud on the back foot, it's there to win - Audley is so disorganised in retreat, he just panics.

There's another thread somewhere by the actual promoter of Adams & he says not.Khaosai-Galaxy wrote:Is this honestly not on TV anywhere?
It's a shame on Adams' behalf, but on Harrison's behalf, it doesn't surprise me.
He is indirectly responsible for killing boxing on the BBC & he also effectively ended PPV boxing on Sky, although I'm not complaining about that, but putting my TV executive hat on, I wouldn't touch Audley Harrison with your barge pole, let alone my own.
Re: Audley-Adams!
Good points Syntax Error - However, it might be a tad on the harsh side. Audley attracted major viewing figures on BBC, ITV, and Sky.... whilst it stank the place out and even calls for him not to be paid - Audley vs Haye was got really good viewing figures.Syntax Error wrote:There's another thread somewhere by the actual promoter of Adams & he says not.Khaosai-Galaxy wrote:Is this honestly not on TV anywhere?

Yes, he got the major bad press but if a TV exec is only interested in viewing figures, then you would certainly be interested in Harrison. Perhaps a TV exec might think that Harrison vs Haye was one criticism too many, one drab performance too many and think viewers will (finally) turn off - but so far, even after performances against the likes of Rogan.... he still attracts the viewers.
Look how many people have asked if this fight is on TV.
Re: Audley-Adams!
I'm reluctantly going, on the basis of it being nearby... Anyone else on here going?

Audley is 1.44 to win by any method on Willhill. I know he has been out for a long time but that is tempting.Casio wrote:Can't find odds anywhere for Audley to win by KO....![]()

Why do you keep spouting this turd? At the time the BBC bailed, they had Hennessy shows (Froch, Eastman and Eesham Pickering) as well as David Haye and Audley. If Audley was the only one not pulling in the audiences they would have just ditched his shows and stuck with the rest. But they didn't because they wanted out of boxing full stop. Thinking about it wasn'tthis around about the time they got Match of the day back? Not only that but when Audley was on he no doubt pulled in bigger audiences than the other guys. I'd bet his fights against Hersisia, Francis and Bonin, say what you like about them, pulled in a bigger audiences than any other boxing on the BBC during that period, even more than Thompson v Haye I reckon, that was obviously shown on a delay.Syntax Error wrote:He is indirectly responsible for killing boxing on the BBC.
If you're complaining about the money he was on for his first 10 fights, I'd love to see you turn down 1million. No doubt you'd say 'Oh no, I don't want a million, I have this real affection towards the people who pay their TV licences I just couldn't possibly accept that.'

Spoiler
Billy Cayzer just got smashed up over 4 3's --- but got the nod 39-38 thanks to Bs reffing.
The kid he fought was game and good should have had the win. Goodwin should get him on in the home corner.

Re: Audley-Adams!
Am I the only one tho who thinks that saying because Audley accepted 1 million the bbc gave up on boxing, is like saying Poland are to blame for starting WW2 in Europe because they got in the way of the marching Nazis?

Damn I forgot to put a bet on watching the England drab game. Gutted I was gona do a load on this.BIGMARK wrote:Off another forum:

Audley just beat him in 4th!! Ref stopped fight! A vicious left hook started it and 25 punch combo afterwards ended it!! #Harrison/Adams
Re: Audley-Adams!
I honestly still can't for the life of me think why Goodwin put his hard earned into getting Ali Adams this shot. He just had no chance!
