Tyson to be new "Mr T"

Post by bennie »

Boxing fan George Clooney has offered bankrupt Mike Tyson a multi-million dollar deal to star in a film remake of the hit television series, 'The A-Team'.
Tyson's role in the film would be that of Sergeant BA Baracus, originally played by a gold chain-draped Mr T.
Clooney will play A-Team leader Hannibal Smith.
A Hollywood source said: "Mike is blown away by the offer. He sees it as a way of making a fresh start. If it works out, George will be his saviour."

Hmm, surely Tyson's lispy effete voice won't sound right on film....

Having tweety pie whispering 'Ain't going on no plane....' isn't going to sound quite the same as the manly tones of Mr T.

Especially when they cast Lennox or Holyfield as the baddie, he's not going to be much help!

Did anyone else ever have those A-Team "story book & cassette" packs when they were a kid? The voices weren't of the real A-Team cast obviously but it was still cool.

There was a similar one for "Street Hawk". Remember that? The hero who rode a black motorbike with a laser and machine gun on the front?

And what was the name of that series where the guy used to change into different types of animals to beat the baddies? I reckon a black panther was a pretty regular transformation.

I bet that bell-end Clooney is going to play Hannibal, that's almost blasphemy. George Peppard, RIP cannot be emulated, genuine war hero as a US Marine (in real life) and pure hard-nut, I for one won't watch the film. He'll be turning in his grave.

There's a few people on ESB who have the right mental attributes to play Murdoch :) , but I doubt any of them can fly a helicopter :-?

Info on Tyson's Lisp

To be honest, with 6 weeks of Speech therapy, most of Tyson's lisp could be removed!

The fact is that when he's angry, there are no hints of his lisp!

Tyson has very clear and consise speech and as proven in Black and white has fantastic screen presence!

Got T-Cell Lymphoma of the skin. Seems to have got over it. Now appears in US sit-coms and does walk-on parts in movies. Still the man and hella tough, and I pity the fool who thinks different. :D

And Bennie probably gets his stuff from the site nasty listed, Mr T vs Everything. :D

Has anyone here read Mr T's auto-biography?.... a hell of a read, quite eccentric and full of lectures against drugs etc but very entertaining and insightful... especially into the background of the unravelling of Leon Spinks who T worked for as a bodyguard!...

At the risk of coming across as tasteless, what other type of lymphoma of the skin would the T-man have? ;)

Glad he's cured of it, though - "I pity da fool who don't use SPF20 or above sunscreen!"

Um, I believe you're referring to a Mohawk - same first 3 letters, but completely different tribes and hairstyles. ;)

Good shout. Toney has expressed an interest in moving into film work and portrayed Smokin Joe well in 'Ali'.
