Boxing Is In The Dark Ages

Our sport needs to embrace technology and move out of the dark ages.

We still have to rely on referees being able to count seconds from memory. Why the hell can he not have an electronic timer on his belt, that he can press when a fighter goes down? The timer can relay the seconds to the ref by a single ear piece. At least then there would be no way the referee could do a fast or slow count.

Judging. For world title fights, there should be five judges at ringside. All five score the fight and two of those cards are discarded - the cards that favor each fighter the most.

Fouls. Some refs let lots of illegal blows go without ever warning a fighter. There is a simple fix. After two low blows a fighter is given a warning. Two more and he loses a point. Two more and he's disqualified. The same sort of thing could be put in place for rabbit punches, holding etc.

Get rid of the drugs cheats and the huge amount of world titles would be a better starting point.

I'm talking about things that are easily achieved. Getting rid of the belts is impossible.
