Any comments or criticisms of the British Top 30 P4P list are very welcome.
Re: British Top 30 P4P July 2012
Andy lee looses and stays 11th, Ryan Rhodes looses and drops 9 places ?
I understand lee was fighting a world champion but dropping 9 places for Rhodes against a good fighter seems abit harsh !

Think Tony Bellew should be a lot further up that list myself.
Re: British Top 30 P4P July 2012
Will Lee Haskins make a list ?
British& commonwealth champ and fights for euro title on 7th.
British& commonwealth champ and fights for euro title on 7th.
Re: British Top 30 P4P July 2012
Rhodes's best win since he beat Moore over 2 years and 8 months ago was against Khomitski which was a decent keeping busy win. Rhodes hadn't been getting the results to maintain his high position, so after the Rabchenko loss I had to drop him a fair few places.jessi wrote:Andy lee looses and stays 11th, Ryan Rhodes looses and drops 9 places ?

Lee had been on better form than Rhodes and he lost to Chavez Jr who is a WBC champion. He was also more competitive against Chavez Jr than Rhodes was against Rabchenko in my opinion.

Re: British Top 30 P4P July 2012
Still no sign of Ajose Olusegun. McCloskey just got stopped by Demarcus Corley but he still ranked
higher than Olusegun. Derry Mathews is on this list before Olsegun. Ajose is in line for a world title
and Mathews has never been past brittish level. Boxrec has Olesugun at #12 @140. McCloskey is at
#39 and boxrec has both Darren hamilton and Ashley Theopane and Lenny Daws in front of McCloskey.

Bellew could reasonably be higher, but everyone above him has a good case for being higher than Bellew as well.Rockys gum shield wrote:Think Tony Bellew should be a lot further up that list myself.
Bellew picked up the best win of his career a few months ago against McIntosh, if he can get back in the ring soon then he should be climbing the rankings fairly rapidly.

The winner of Haskins vs Hall will enter the rankings next month.G0mez wrote:Will Lee Haskins make a list ?

Haskins has been in the rankings before, he entered after he beat Broadhurst and fell out a few months later.
Re: British Top 30 P4P July 2012
how could he fall out of the rankings tho after going 5 fights unbeaten since broadhurst , winning prize fighter + the win in morroco?
Re: British Top 30 P4P July 2012
Olusegun hasn't fought in over 9 months and it is difficult to judge how good a win against Chebah is. Olusegun will have to fight again to re-enter the list and that probably won't happen for a while.world ranked wrote:Still no sign of Ajose Olusegun. Who has Olusegun beaten that is better than British level? In the last 2 years Olusegun has had 2 fights, Mathews has had 12 and has another scheduled this weekend. Mathews has a better recent record than Olusegun.
McCloskey was the European champion and he challenged for a world title just over a year ago. He beat Prescott less than a year ago (albeit controversially) and Prescott is arguably better than Chebah.
Olusegun is too inactive and his opposition is not good enough to make up for it.

Re: British Top 30 P4P July 2012
Opponents play a fact in ranking fighters but its not all look where you have Kell Brook. Olusegun is ranked higher
in every other ranking in the world but your telling me becuause he hasn't fought in nine months that means something. Boxrec keep fighters in their rankings for 1 year. You because Matthews and McCloskey is active dont mean their better. Olusegun career is clearly on the upswing and McCloskey on the downward spirial. McCloskey
just got stopped wins count for something loses should too. If you think resumes are similar who the better fighter in
your opinion.

Because he didn't fight for 16 months after the 1st Broadhurst fight.REEVE wrote:how could he fall out of the rankings tho after going 5 fights unbeaten since broadhurst , winning prize fighter + the win in morroco?

Brook has a better record than Olusegun and is ranked in the top 10 by all 4 of the major sanctioning bodies. Olusegun is only ranked by the WBC.world ranked wrote:Opponents play a fact in ranking fighters but its not all look where you have Kell Brook. Olusegun is ranked higher

I didn't take Olusegun out because he was inactive, he fell out as other fighters moved ahead of him.world ranked wrote:Boxrec keep fighters in their rankings for 1 year. You because Matthews and McCloskey is active dont mean their better.
At the moment I would favour Olusegun to beat McCloskey, but McCloskey is probably going to fall out of the rankings in a few months, so it doesn't really matter. If I had taken McCloskey out of the rankings after his loss to Corley it wouldn't have been Olusegun replacing him.world ranked wrote:Olusegun career is clearly on the upswing and McCloskey on the downward spirial. Olusegun can only re-enter when he fights again.

Re: British Top 30 P4P July 2012
Interesting to see Brian Magee in British list even though he is Irish and this is acknowledged in the thread??!!!
Might as well chuck in Hopkins in his place (USofA) :!:

He was born in Nigeria and I think he is based in the United States now.G0mez wrote:Where was Olusegun born and where is he now based ?
He is a former British champion, so he will remain eligible for a place in the rankings.
Re: British Top 30 P4P July 2012
Magee is a former British champion. It is hardly crazy to have him in the British rankings.TopGun wrote:Interesting to see Brian Magee in British list even though he is Irish and this is acknowledged in the thread??!!!
