I have also been a fan of Buncy but this was more than a bit much. 'Do it for free' gang? And calling someone who makes videos for fun a chancer? What do you think?

I would like to geniunely hear what he says without pettiness (from any party). My mate said to him on Twitter that he always downloaded his podcasts and was a massive fan of Buncy but has lost all respect and basically said WHY? He got instantly blocked. I asked him why he got blocked for that and I got blocked. It's funny the power of the internet cos he has lost a few hundred fans to a Youtuber!

I just listened to the link and it seems that some obsessed fan and his mates have got onto Bunce to push a Youtube channel. Bunce has said he has not into it then this bloke has had a go on Twitter then produced a whining 25 minute video about how he isn't bothered really- but then slags him to high heaven.

Nah the guy who does the vids has thousands of subscribers and interviews a few people (Price, Jefferies, Abner Mares). Maloney and Nelson are also fans. They have always said to Bunce you should give this guy a listen and he ignores em. Ukwingchunstudent's fans asked why they ignore him (Student said nout) and he got all rude and defence... started name-calling!

During the 1:10 I'm pretty sure Bunce seemed more put off by the fact he had never known this fella attend a show. Maybe that all changes in the additional 20 odd minutes dedicated to it

What does it really matter, ukwingchunstudent seems to be doing okay by his standards without Bunce. He shouldn't get so hung up on it

I didn’t follow the entire debate, but what I took from it is that Bunce took umbrage to this guy’s demand for attention or recognition and said, in a number of ways and with varying levels of success, that anyone can do these vids and demand recognition for them yet he has more respect for guys who attend fights, go to gyms or interview as many people as possible rather than jumping straight into the video thing and going apeshit if they don’t get recognised immediately.

I think it is more of a cultural thing, no one wants to lay the groundwork for their opinions anymore. There’s a lot of videos featuring a lot of men and women and you’re not quite sure why you should watch them rather than someone else as a few of them haven’t done anything other than ramble into a camera and, in the main, come across as complete nutters. All you hear is, “I’ve got a right to an opinion, me”, rather than, “I have an informed opinion, me, and it is based on X, Y and Z”.

If you say to one of these people, “Why should I watch a 20+ minute vid and respect your opinion?”, the chances are, in the main, that you’ll just get abuse hurled at you. It is the X-Factorisation of society, knock up a vid as a type of audition, put it out and then throw a wobbly when Sky don’t get in touch to offer you a show or someone like Bunce doesn’t offer you the due “respect”.

For me, and I’m probably in the minority as I don’t really watch any of these vids, these people are similar to the kids on the streets who go about demanding recognition and respect without doing anything to earn it. It strikes me as an ego thing, especially as the guy in question sent out an open letter to Adam Smith that I hear crossed over into slang once too often. Why would Smith a) care b) read c) respond?

Why spend 20 mins watching these people when you can watch a fight instead?

It is a quick fix type of thing, it gets you out there etc. and if that’s all you want then so be it. I struggle with interviews as I tend to phone people etc. to do interviews, but there’s a growing trend of obtaining them via Tweets or Twitter/Facebook DMs and then just pasting in the quotes and producing an ‘interview’. So you’re left asking yourself if you should go down this road to save yourself time and money.

Everyone has to start somewhere though, someone must of gave you an opportunity to get in the position you have of interviewing boxers,etc.

I dont know this, but Terry probably just asked. I have been around am and pro shows at all levels for years and met hundreds of Boxers, most of whom are very personable. If i was that way inclined, i bet i could have got an interview out of a large percentage. Most would be buzzing with the publicity. It would involve a passion for writing, a lot of petrol and a big phone bill though for little or no reward. Nobody just walks up to a random guy at ringside and says "here mate, here's Jamie Moore, interview him for me and stick it online", you make your own breaks.

Its a different age though now mate with the internet,etc. There's a guy called apollo James Jackson who seems a few pennies short of a pound to me who does a lot of interviews with boxers, trainers, etc and not just in this country either but goes round the gyms in the states aswell.

Buncey offers anyone who has a view on Boxing a chance to speak to him every Thursday on his BBC London show and also any live show he attends. Infact (and its probably in reference to this very video) about 2 weeks ago he said "Its funny I open the lines but I get nothing, yet on twitter all I get is abuse" or something along those lines. He seems via that to be a very approachable fella who would probably stand and talk to you for as long as he wasnt live on telly or abusing him

The Internet is a funny old thing.

Rewind a couple of years, and there was a huge swell of Save Buncey, with a website and everything. Almost as he was the hardcore Internet boxing poster's connection with the world. The keyboard warrior's hero.

Never afraid to call a spade a spade.

A deal with a certain promoter (which seemed an awkward fit) and a couple of Internet ding-dongs later and it's all exploded.

I liken it to Rio kissing the Leeds badge then going to Man Utd lol.
